This is such a wonderful kid friendly movie starring Jim Varney as 'Carl Banks'. It's like the modern day version of 'The Boy who cried Wolf'. Timmy Taylor and his friends like to play pranks on people and eventually when he starts telling the truth, no one believes him. Jim was so touching in this film. He played a counterfeiter who used to be a fire fighter until something went wrong one day while fighting a fire. He really was a nice guy and a great man. He just strayed for a while but eventually, with the help from the kids, straightened everything out. Jim was funny in this movie as well as dramatic. The more serious part of the movie was when Carl was talking about how he got into counterfeiting. Jim had a way of telling a story that would just engulf you and you could just sit there and listen to him all day. 'Treehouse Hostage' is one of my favorite non-Ernest movies starring Jim Varney. Go and buy it and watch it on family night.More
