This comedy is the first feature film in which noted Indian filmmakers Merchant and Ivory teamed up. It is about an emotionally immature schoolteacher who learns an important lesson about responsibility in marriage. It begins when he finds himself betrothed to a stranger.The marriage occurs and both husband and wife try to adjust.
