A young, female sociologist conducts a informal survey about Swedish society in which she asks questions about politics and sexuality. Meanwhile, she begins an affair with a married salesman, and the two make love in numerous places -- including in public. In the process, she searches for her own identity and becomes a political activist. Sjöman blurs the lines between his characters and the actors portraying them, and utilizes a loose narrative structure. Among the filmmaking styles used are cinéma vérité and newsreel. [More]

It’s too shapeless and loose, and it’s easy for one’s attention to drift until the screen is once again filled with the infamous sexual interludes.
