Will Smith Adds Seven Pounds
Suicide is painless/It brings on many changes/And he can take or leave it if he pleases.

He's filming Hancock and gearing up to promote this winter's I Am Legend, but Will Smith isn't looking for any time off -- in fact, Variety reports that he's already committed to his next project.

The film, which will reunite the actor with his The Pursuit of Happyness director, Gabriele Muccino, is titled Seven Pounds; according to Variety's report, Smith will star in the story of "a man who inadvertently falls in love while attempting to kill himself." Grant Nieporte -- who most recently scripted several episodes of 8 Simple Rules...for Dating My Teenage Daughter and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch -- wrote the screenplay.

Seven Pounds is scheduled to begin shooting in February, and is being produced by Smith's company, Overbrook Entertainment, in conjunction with Escape Artists. The filmmakers are aiming for a late 2008 release.

"The Pursuit of Happyness" confused a generation of impressionable kids about the correct way to spell "happiness."

I personally think Will Smith is an incredible actor, and would gladly see any of his films (besides wild wild west) at any time

he's great as long as you love his stereotype one liners...

Falls in love while trying to kill himself? So this is a straight role for him? A movie with such a plot line should not be a comedy.

Stereotypical one-liners? Yeah cause he writes the scripts to his movies.

sanguinam - not that i have a stake it one or the other (nor do i desire to be labeled an "unacquainted douche"), but citing one movie from 14 years ago doesn't quite prove your point.

Isn't anybody at all concerned with the idea that the screenwriter penned "Sabrina the Teenage Witch"?

You%u2019re partially right downwithstarbucks. It doesn%u2019t help, but does it hurt?

He has been in movies where stereotypical catchphrases weren%u2019t uttered...that particular movie being one of the better ones. Even the ones where he is uttering stereotypical catchphrases aren%u2019t written by him and don%u2019t diminish him as an actor.

I am. That is for damn sure.

Then again, the creator of "The Rugrats" did direct the "Bride to Terabithia" film adaptation...

well, he may not write the catch phrases. but as an actor (especially of his stature) he has complete control of what movies he decides to make. i don't see clive owen uttering too many catch phrases.
