What truly makes [the film] so detestable is its disingenuous attempt to justify itself with a tacked-on call for acceptance of all people and lifestyles.
Tacked-on call for acceptance? That's like saying the whale was tacked on to Moby Dick. The whole movie is a call for acceptance. Felix is the disingenuous one here. He's too busy feeling smarter than Adam Sandler fans to see the movie in front of his eyes. Yes, there's a lot of dumb humor in 'Chuck and Larry', but basically this is a pro-gay comedy aimed at straight guys who would never see Milk or Brokeback Mountain. As silly as it is, 'Chuck and Larry' is groundbreaking stuff. If Adam Sandler wants to get millions--and millions and millions and millions and millions and millions and millions--of working class straight guys to rethink their attitudes about gays, I say cool. Anyone who thinks that's 'detestable' needs to check out their own head, Felix. Read my review to see proof that Felix is dead wrong about 'Chuck and Larry.'
