Critic Review - New York Observer

I cannot believe this is the Todd Haynes who topped my ten-best list in 2002 with the magnificent, unforgettable Far From Heaven. Headed for the No. 1 spot on my ten-worst list, I'm Not There is a tumultuous disappointment.

Laughable. Mr. Reed is obviously more interested in insulting anything he doesn't understand than reviewing a movie.

He's not disappointed-his dislike of the movie reflects his admitted dislike of Dylan and his music. It is obvious he was hoping to pan this movie.

No, really. I've been reading this guy's reviews, and botton line, he absolutely doesn't like ANYTHING he can't immediately understand at he moment he sees it. "Thinking for a ****ing moment" isn't on his schedule of movie-watching. Same goes for Dylan's music, of course.

I'm guessing Reed's favorite must be some short from Sesame.
