It is no surprise that it was nominated for a Best Foreign Language Film Oscar.

Just seen it. Small 'art house' cinema in a complex, three others in audience, all of us over 60. An audience who could relate to Christian-Muslim conflict, though I first thought it was Euro-Christian-Muslims, till I realised it was Lebanon. Didn't realise the brother and sister were twins until end of film, so a few loose ends as far as my understanding was concerned. I related to storyline as being an adoptee I don't know much about my birth parents. But, and it's a big BUT. I spent a lot of the time wiggling in my seat. I was expecting something faster, sexier and bloodier, along usual lines of French crime films - yes, I got that wrong too. Not surprised to learn later that it was 130 minutes long. Great performances, great story and filming, but toooooo long.

I was so into the movie that it didn't feel long at all. I was still reeling from the viewing experience the next day.
