After seeing what Lucas did to Indy IV, I hope he retires.

Remo Williams! The adventure began a long time ago, and I'm still waiting for it to continue.

I don't think Disney or anyone else could do justice to a Roger Rabbit sequel. It just wouldn't work. The same can be said for a Forest Gump 2. I never read the book, but even if it had been good, I think that the film should be without any sequels.Independence Day doesn't really have anywhere else to go. You could make a film about another attack, but I don't think it would be interesting enough. Also, I don't see how Earth could survive another invasion like that. There's no way we'd come out as the winners. Some stories are better enjoyed as a single entity, and I believe this is one of them.I would have zero interest in seeing Jurassic Park 4. I really enjoyed the first one. The action in the second one was a lot of fun even though the story wasn't that great. I found the third one pretty boring because it didn't feel like there was anything really fresh or exciting about it. A fourth seems like overkill.I REALLY want to see something interesting done with Tron. Sure the first one was dorky but that was half of the fun of watching it for me. There is so much artistic potential for a sequel though. It could be visually stunning, and if the story is intriguing enough it could be a hit.

For those asking about sin city 2...http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0458481/
May 22 - 10:11 PM
ARGHHH>..we knew this would happen...people who hate Indy 4 blame Lucas, people who love it cite Spielberg as the reason. You Lucas haters need to check your brains at the door!
May 22 - 10:32 PM
I gotta agree about Indy 4. What a big piece. You cant really blame Lucas for this as producer. This one is squarely on Spielberg as director for allowing such great talent go to waste on a script where there is nothing for them to do. He has full control over what was shot and shouldve delayed for a better script.
May 22 - 10:42 PM
AudioNinja, that's the single best idea I've ever heard about anything.
And that was NOT sarcasm!
May 22 - 10:31 PM
I would like to see Mathilda: The Professional 2. I heard Jean Reno turned down a prequel. Would be interesting what the script will be. Natalie's all grown up and would be great if she'd reprise the role.
May 22 - 10:36 PM
Serenity 2 would probably top my list. That
The Incredibles 2 would be awesome as well. Definitely the most sequelable Pixar film.
It's not a sequel per se, but I'd really love to see an Arrested Development movie, which I guess would basically be a sequel to the TV show.
Gladiator 2 has been mentioned as well. I'm not all that interested except to see just how they planned on pulling it off.
Also, no mention of Blade Runner 2? That's the Riddley Scott flick that I really want to see sequeled.
May 22 - 10:39 PM
I really want the Chronicles of Riddick to keep going
its a good sci fi flick

"I've read both books, so I can tell you fairly straightforwardly that the problem with following up Forrest Gump with Gump & Co. is that the sequel book... SUCKED" BOTH, read me cowboy, BOTH books SUCKED, not just Gump & Co., the thing is, they changed so much of it in the transition to a movie that it thus DID NOT suck, and if they can do it again, and everyone is back on board, I would love it.Most of these others, most, would blow, AvP2 is hopefully the last AvP, and no more Alien or Predator films, love them as I do, they can't be revived. Also, Jinx? What crack are you guys on? She was the worst part of that(very good) Bond outing, she was just there to be obligatory T&A.
May 22 - 11:13 PM
Revrant, completely agree with you on the Jinx sequels. Its clear
to me and you that, Greg Dean Schmitz, lost his mind when he saw Halle in
that orange bikini. Seriouly, Greg I can understand the awe inspiring sight
of Halle in that bikini but honestly that single moment was THE ONLY thing
worth watching in that entire movie. Plus, it is widely accepted as the
movie that killed James Bond and it took a decade until Daniel Craig
resurrected it. So, here's a golden rule "Die Another Day" is the low point
in Bonds history and everything about should be forgotten and buried with
other series killing sequels like Superman 4 & Batman and robin. And here's
one final point...is it just me or has the time where Halle Berry can start
a franchise series over now? Too many flops in her recent history shows she
just isn't an A list actress and i just don't she could carry a series based
on a pretty weak character that was in a horrific flick. So, please give me
and everyone else who like great sequels, many many more Bond movies with
Craig and never ever a Jonx movie, please!!

Man, what about Twin Peaks? Fire Walk With Me was going to be the first in a trilogy if it did well, and Lynch WANTED to do them.

the plot for the star war episodes 7. 8 and 9 has been known for a long time from the star wars books, you can find synopsis of them on wikipedia, the basic storyline came from Lucas himself while several author wrote the bookssome of the stories are good, basically is Luke fighting distant remains of the empire that didn't get the memo about palpy, while trying to put the jedi order back togetherthe biggest problem with actually filming is that you'd need mark hamill, carrie fisher and harrison ford not only back, but with some serious make up and CGI to make them look younger, since it happens right after episode 6, with the roles recast it wouldn't work
May 22 - 11:23 PM
I don't want to see another Independence Day. I loved that movie when I was a kid, but I've outgrown it, and I no longer can be satisfied with just a huge musical score and flashy special FX.I don't think the Star Wars franchise needs any more milking. I like SW, but ANOTHER trilogy? Even Star Wars is not above overkill.Ghostbusters 3 would be awesome though.

I use "Bookhouse Boy" as my nom du net, so I'm a huge Twin Peaks fan, and it almost made the list. Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins was definitely a title we/I considered in the same vein as Flash Gordon/Buckaroo Banzai/History of the World Part I, as a title that implied a sequel... like Twin Peaks, a victim of doing just a top 20.
As for Evil Dead, I think one could argue that a whole top 20 could be done for just horror franchises; the trend seems to be to restart all those old franchises as remakes, and indeed, there has been talk of an Evil Dead remake. A 4th Ash movie... not as much.
Ditto what Matchity said about Back to the Future... theoretically, it might make sense for the list, but I think if there ever were any sequel thoughts, the concept might have been a TV show or something. Even that, I'm not sure.
May 22 - 11:54 PM
corrections "and never a JINX movie, please!!" & "and i just
don't THINK she could carry..." sorry about the typos folks.
attention R.t. staff- I plead w/ you guys.. insert an edit button.
Also, i am in favor a Ghostbuster 3, Forest Gump 2, History of the World:
Part Two and hell even another Star Wars trilogy(because to be fair Lucas
was getting slightly better with each of the recent star wars movies with
episode 3 being considered a very good movie. so i am indeed hopining for an
episode 7 ).
May 23 - 12:26 AM
There actually was a plot in place for Independence Day 2. It was going to revolve around Will Smith and Bill Pullman's kids, having been infected by an alien virus during the first attack and it spreading...kind of a zombie alien type thing, minus the lust for brains.
Brad Bird doesn't do sequels, so no Incredibles 2...
Where's Goonies 2 on this list?!
May 23 - 12:27 AM
heck i wld love to see seque;ls for two movies i enjoyed thoruoghly as a child.. Jumnaji and the MAsk. agreed a borad game movie wldnt xcite much nowadays, but the original was a fun movie.. the son of mask was complete crap.. i wld love to see jim carrey don the mask again..

the godfather prequel??? ahh **** it
May 23 - 04:16 AM
I'd love to see a Buckaroo banzai sequel, though people always have mentioned that it as a trilogy in one movie. A few others I'd Like to see.. Dark Crystal, The great Glass Elevator (second charlie in the chocolate factory book), Megaforce 2, and Goonies 2 , with the kid's kids.
May 23 - 04:27 AM
"You cant really blame Lucas for this as producer"No, not as the producer but he WROTE the story. To be fair to Lucas, I equally blame Spielberg for how bad this film is. The dialogue was flat as a board and that's all about directing, but the story stunk out loud. This was definitely the Indy film I did not want to see. When I heard the earliest spoilers, I thought it was a diversion from the real plot. Sadly, not the case.
May 23 - 04:41 AM
Man only after a day of its released INDY 4 is getting bash... I for one loved it.
