Buckaroo Banzai Vs. The World Crime League should be #1. It also should have happened, as it would've been awesome.

And for the rationale given for Flash Gordon, they SO need to make a Manos: The Hands of Fate 2: Torgo Lives.
And there WAS a Christmas Story 2...sort of. It Runs In The Family*/My Summer Story. I hated it when I was younger, but I am not sure it's cause it sucked or because I loved ACS so much I wouldn't give it a chance. Now that I know there's more to Jean Shepherd's work than just Ralphie and the Red Ryder BB gun, would I appreciate it more?
Speaking of which, if it was pre-1999, I'd vote for adapting other Jean Shepherd stories to film. But now that Shep is no longer with us for narration or creative input, not so much. It would be akin to Mrs. Seuss tossing her husband's books to and fro, to any movie studio with the right price.

* - There was a later movie also named "It Runs In The Family," starring among others, Bernadette Peters. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....Bernadette Peeeeeeeeeters......

The Chronicles of Riddick deserves it sequels
I want a Lethal Weapon 5 and another Space Odyssey movie!
May 23 - 03:23 PM
Yuck...enough with the crappy sequels.
Aside from, I think Tron, I don't want to see a single sequel to ANY of these movies.
Roger Rabbit? How?
Flash Gordon? Why?
Gump? I don't get it...
Conan AGAIN?!? Are we freakin' serious???
Star Wars? I mean, come on...aside from number 3, we just got through some pretty questionable prequels. And nobody is gonna replace any of the actors or actresses with new people.
None of these movies are screaming to get sequels made...
Let 'em die. Please... :)

Why does every single list that comes from this site have to be over ten pages? I already know the answer, but I find this an incredible inconvenience. Just four pages with five movies each would have been nicer. Think of it this way, RT, when I see a list this unnecessarily long I don't even bother reading it. Yes, I'm that lazy.

I feel like we are missing several obvious choices here. I for one have a number of ideas that I think need to come to fruition. For example:
What about It's a Wonderful Life 2? Jimmy Stewart's character would begin to lose his sanity with the stress of running a bank and dealing with his kids and would form a drug habit, forcing his angel to once again give him a reality check.
Titanic 2: Jack's Revenge. This would be a horror movie focusing on Rose's middle-aged years, with Jack's ghost returning to haunt her because she wouldn't scoot over on that F***ING FLOATING DOOR!
and we mustn't forget...
Saving Private Ryan Again. This could chronicle the journey of the OTHER Ryan, the young man who was tragically misinformed of his brothers' deaths by Tom Hanks about halfway through the film. His story is simply BEGGING to be told.
Bottom line: You just CAN'T make sequels to some movies. I almost vomited when I read a comment asking for the Usual Suspects 2. Pure sacrelige. The Departed 2? EVERYONE THAT MATTERED IN THE FIRST ONE IS DEAD! Come on folks...

However, I would like to say that I have always held out some small hope for the rumored True Lies sequel. That one deperately needed to become a franchise...

WHOA!!!We have all been waiting for... Jinx??? I think not. she was the main reason the last James Bond movie with Bronson was a total turd, and went down as one of the cheesiest and most unlikeable bond girls in the 21 film series. I for one am overjoyed this film never saw the light of day.also- YES, Star Wars 7,8,9. There is money just sitting in the bank for Lucas, and while it may be a few years, they will be made. It might even be after George Lucases death, but these films will happen.- Vega Brothers would have been awesome, but due to the Tarintino (I'll make 1 movie ever 5 years) mindset, we never got the chance. oh well, lets just look forward to bastards, which i suspect we will see around 2012?- History of he world part 2 is long over due, the title alone demanded a sequel. and NO, This wasn't the last great Mel Brooks movie, Robin Hood men in tights is just as funny as his other works (including his highly overrated blazing saddles). - After Pitch black, I said "Bring on the Riddick Trilogy!". But the Sequel was one of the worst movies I had ever seen, and to end the movie on that kind of a giant cliff hanger, with no greenlit sequel, was just stupid. As much potential as that series had, it doesn't deserve another movie. not after Chronicles. - Austin Powers 4, and Men In Black are much like Riddick. Bad Sequels killed the chance of the next movie. Men In Black 2 just had an awful script, and the second AP 4 cast BEYONCE, that movie began its spiral down the crapper.- Independence Day 2? is anyone asking for that? I mean, other than Jeff Goldbloom, is anyone asking for that?

I may be in the minority here, but "The Incredibles" sucked major ***. If any sequel is to be made to a Pixar movie, "Ratatouille" is the one. It is too recent, but maybe in 4 or 5 years; it would make perfect sense.A "Twin Peaks" trilogy would be great. I am a huge fan of both the TV series and the movie; but then again, I'm a huge fan of Lynch. Also, what about "The Godfather's Revenge"? and the rest of the sequels written by Mark Winegardner? Although not Italian, Robert Downey Jr. was born to continue the role of Michael Corleone. In the same vein, there was talk about a sequel to "The Departed", about a dirty senator played by Bob De Niro who somehow involves Dignam (Wahlberg) in a major corruption web. It would also be penned by William Monahan and directed by, who else? Marty. The "Men in Black" and "Ghostbusters" franchises need to be made trilogies. They should do a third and last entry for each, and go out with a bang. Now, in Tarantino territory, someone oughtta give this man some money and have him produce a "Vega Brothers" prequel, and both a prequel and a sequel to "Kill Bill". He once mentioned something about Vernita Green's daughter being raised by Sofie Fatale to go after The Bride, and an anime prequel about the events that led to 'The Massacre at Two Pines'.

Where the hell is Terminator IV? They left the third movie at a cliffhanger and I want to see a fourth.
May 24 - 06:47 PM
No word on Mannequin 3!!??
May 24 - 07:25 PM
Honestly, I completely disagree with everyone of these selections... Because most movie trilogies are ruined by their sequels...
