Lucas Ponders Indy 5, Says Ford Would Star

Summary

During a recent chat with MTV, George Lucas acknowledged that he's working on ideas for a fifth Indiana Jones feature -- and said it definitely won't center on Shia LaBeouf's sidekick character, Mutt Williams. Back to Article

Indy 4 was the most disappointing movie I have ever seen. More disappointing than X-Men 3, more disappointing than Spiderman 3, more disappointing than the Phanton Menace (and that's saying a lot!)

George Lucas has lost touch with how to entertain people. He only cares about himself and his kids, now, and he's too rich too ever convince otherwise. Steven Spielberg is starting to show signs of that senility as well. He's achieved all he ever hoped to as well. Now, just like George Lucas, he's in it for the fun of it, not for the challenge. Goodbye Mr. Lucas and Mr. Spielberg. I did respect you both for a long time.

Indy 4 was absolute garbage, and I will never buy it. If an Indy 5 is made, I will never see it. Just like with the Star Wars prequels, a continuation of the Indiana Jones saga is an absolutely stupid idea.

A lot of TV shows stop at the height of their popularity. Maybe George Lucas should study this idea. It would have kept a lot of respect for him going in this world.

How about "Indiana Jones and the Quest for an Original Idea"? Lucas could NEVER make that one...

4 was pretty good, better than 2 for sure. Atlantas sounds like a great place to visit.

Sure, I'm there.

Did anyone else catch this:

They don't drop the skull when the car goes down three waterfalls.
But when they are in the temple and fall a few rungs down the ladder, and someone drops the skull in like 1 foot of water (next to his feet), they all freak out.

Also,
When Mutt meets all those monkeys, wouldn't they just attack him in the face instead of follow him?

TLD:

You're right about why people are more attached to the first and third movie artifacts, and thanks for correcting me on their classifications. That was what I was trying to say. I still stand by my opinion that it's silly to like an Indy movie more because you're familiar with the artifact being hunted, or the mythology behind it. I doubt that people really believe in these artifacts truly existing as they're portrayed, but because they're familiar with them, they're all-of-a-sudden more believable or cool?

I agree with Jokerboy, that the article's ideas of Atlantis or The Fountain of Youth, would be interesting.

Snipes .

Too bad they basically said Connery is dead in the 4th film. The only way they could possibly pull it off is having the 5th film be set prior to the 4th. Anyways Connery is enjoying retirement and I doubt he'd come back unless they actually wanted to make a film that's more like the first three, which would mean Lucas is out, and that won't happen. Lucas wants to push the series more into the corny direction, he's definitely proved himself to be a fool.

Wait, he made an Indiana Jones 4? Next thing you'll be telling me is that he's planning to make prequels to those old Star Wars movies. :|

"connery is dead". and? this is lucas we're talking about penning a script, RIGHT? i'm half expecting him to rewrite darth maul BACK into the star wars movies and say he learned the secret to cheat death from Palpatine. c'mon, why wouldnt he? maul was ridiculously popular and sold a sh3t load.
i wouldn't be surprised if lucas tried to crossover his weakening franchises and had Connery show up in blue cgi saying his latest find was a power known as "the Force" and told Indy he can now live on even though he's dead. c'mooon...you know Lucas would stoop that low. its just a matter of how low...can he go

I'd much rather see Darth Maul brought back to life in the Indy franchise, at this point. Be a MUUUCH better (and shorter) fencing match between him and Laboeuf on the back of moving trucks...
