I'm stoked for Indy 5. I love the series and Indiana Jones is my freaking hero. People keep saying Crystal Skull was terrible, which I really don't understand (minus the CGI gophers and the fridge-nuking, of course). I really liked the movie and a fifth one sounds great. It should definitely be the series finale, though. Send Ford out with a bang and give us one last great Indy film! I'm counting on you, Spielberg!

alright another indy!!!!!! i think we can all agree that 1 and 3 are the most liked out of the series, and yet the items he searched for in those two films are probly the most far fetched out of all of them. i mean theres physical proof of shakra stones and crystal skulls. but the only proof for the ark and grail are just pictures and tall tales. i personally dont dislike any of the indiana jones films, and i welcome another.

Don't Tase Me Bro
"...the only proof for the ark and grail are just pictures and tall tales."Concerning the Ark, not necessarily. True it is referenced throughout the [Old Testament] Bible, but it is also referenced in the Quran, and heavily rumored to either be buried in an underground tunnel under the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem [of which the tunnel has now been permanently sealed] or secured by the Templars at a now unknown location after one of the Crusades. I think its existence goes slightly beyond mere pictures and tall tales (unless you think every single word in the Bible is nothing more than a tall tale which is completely understandable). I think something resembling an Ark probably did exist for the Hebrews...but its 'mythic' power is an entirely different story.Reliquary in certain faiths (especially Catholicism) has had a major influence in increasing interest for thousands of years. Perhaps someone 'built' a physical Ark according the dimensions and description in the Pentateuch and then over time, like the Shakra Stones and Crystal Skulls, it took on a 'life' and mythos of its own.

@dont tase me bro, i also heard the rumors about where the ark is possibly located. but my point is exactly that, there just rumors. no physical proof. same goes for the holy grail. even da vinci left it out in the painting of the last supper for which it was famously used for. im not trying to bash religion im just saying proof wise, the shakra stones and the crystal skulls exist. the grail and ark dont.

The more I watch Indy 4 the more I like it. Yeah there was too much CGI and the plot was a little convoluted (Winstone's character was totally pointless), but man, it's just a FUN flick. It was a wild, 50's era action romp. Aliens were a PERFECT, ESSENTIAL choice and anyone who says different doesn't get what Indy is all about. I have no problem in saying that I like it more than Temple of Doom, and that it easily earned its place with the first three films.Plus, I'm pretty sure the greaser fight is one of the coolest things ever put to celluloid :PBring on Indy 5!

I think Winstone's character, complete with his silk Ascot and immaculately trimmed mustache, was played gay and in love with Indy. (His pet name "Jonesy" was a bit-suspicious after the 50th time he uttered it. Kudos to Winstone's nuanced acting). I didn't think it was pointless...just amusing!

indy has always been about the moments(not all good ala raft parachuting, 3-d bridges, etc.), and good parts of action films and pulp stories of the past... it really doesnt matter to me what the macguffin is b/c that is just a springboard to see indy dual with his fists, and have crazy escape after crazy escape...
now since people can only mention the fridge scene and the tarzan scene or the aliens lets talk the good....
1. the drag race in the beginning to the whole warehouse fight/chase scene was awesome... "this isnt going to be easy" "not as easy as it used to be" classic... not to mention the wip swinging stunts and car jumping badassery that ensued in the warehouse
2.when indy first meets mutt, they talk in the diner, kgb show up, indy says punch this guy, who? phil college! classic, then the whole greaser vs. prep was awesome not to mention the most badass motorcycle chase i have ever seen on film! my favorite part of the movie right here, they pull indy off the back of the bike, knocks out he guy in the back the kicks the driver out, then immediately jumps back out the car onto the bike instead of just stopping the car ... thats the definition of indy...
3.the whole peru bit was good from him talking about riding with panco villa, to the finding of the skull to the classic "youre a teacher?" "part time"...
4."when i get outta here im going to break your nose"
5.now the jungle scene was pretty damn long and full of some great parts not just shia doing his tarzan or them jumping of cliffs and waterfalls... best parts would include indy saying none of them were you honey, then hijacking the car, "he doesnt think that far ahead" bit with the rocket launcher, ummm as soon as the car passes a treeline indy gets launched to another care where he continues to kick *** and does an awesome slam move to one guy if you guys noticed it... i liked the sword fight, the traditional huge guy fist fight indy always has... big *** ants, overall there was alot of great practical stunts in that scene (not just cgi backdrops like people pretend)
6.the whole discovery of the city, puzzle solving stuff, indians coming out of the walls, falling through sand to enter the temple,
all in all the the good definately outweighs the bad, and i would compare this one equally with temple of doom,, b/c of the macguffin not being biblical , and the fact that its just more pulpy and over the top than the other two...

Harrison we can all forgive 4 if you let this thing die. I hate to say it folks but this franchise either has to reboot or say goodbye. If Bond can constantly reinvent himself so can Indy. How about Patrick Wilson or Bradley Cooper. Maybe we should see Indy's first big discovery and how he became "Dr." Jones. Wow, now I've said it I realize how horrible of an idea that is.
