Tonally schizoid and rife with anachronisms (a David Bowie song on the sound track, out-of-era vernacular), Tarantino's Third Reich folly is utterly exasperating.
Funny, most critics are praising the movie for those exact same things.
Anyway, sounds good to me.

Nothing of value was lost.

Anachorisms? I don't think it was Tarantino's intent to be historically and chronologically accurate.

You know you have a good film on your hands when the only thing a person can find to criticize is the soundtrack.

Your grasp of fiction in the cinema and the artform itself is breathtaking. Congratulations, you just arrived to nowhere.
Aug 20 - 05:30 PM
Um... it'd called fiction and creative license. Or perhaps you could just label it as "imagination." I fail to see why this is bad, Mr. Rea...
Aug 20 - 07:29 PM
Have all you guys seen it already?
Aug 20 - 10:23 PM
Finally, a critic with a brain that can tell that anything Tarantino makes is pure ****.
Aug 20 - 11:32 PM
Good for Mr. Rea. The endless fawning over a half-wit like QT and Brad has got to be seasoned by some actual critical thinking and observations on just how stupid anti-hero movies have become. History is tragedy, then farce, and now run-at-the-mouth BS. I see the airhead bimbolinas & spell-check challenged are angry at your forthright ability to call BS ****.
Aug 21 - 09:05 AM
This BS is better than every war movie put out in 10 years, so yeah I'd rather have it.

P Hello Kitty
Would you have preferred something closer to "Schindler's List"?
Aug 21 - 09:03 AM
"once upon a time in nazi occupied france..." is how it begins. Its an alternate history not a non fiction parable about the war. Maybe Mr. Rea should watch private ryan some more.

Are you serious? .... The people giving the movie bad reviews all seem to have outlandish reasons and seem to be full of themselves./facepalm
Aug 21 - 03:34 PM
I saw it today and was pissed. Started out great and then completely lost its way. The problem? MOMENTUM. Tarantino can jerk off musically or referentially to his heart's content, but that doesn't make a great movie.Maybe QT needs a review of the editing process. Blomkamp had me glued to the seat with D-9, Tarantino had me yawning.

Congrats on blurting out the characters involved in the final sequence. If the point of your review was to be a complete prick I say fantastic effort!

The film was just as inspired as any of his others. Tarantino's influences are always relevant in his films and this is no exception. Any anachronous decisions were, I believe, beneficial. Hitler's face wasn't blown to smithereens in actuality, but for the sake of entertainment I think it was an excellent judgement call.

You do know the whole point of the movie right? It's supposed to be an American propaganda movie that counter-acts the German propaganda movie in the movie. It's not supposed to be factual at all. Or did you not understand the movie? I know QT films and makes dialogue at at least a high school level so I can understand if it was over your head.
