When the head of the Pittsburgh mafia, Sal "the Shark" Macelli (Robert Loggia), escapes her after a midnight feeding, she is forced to track him down with the help of an undercover cop, Joey (Anthony Lapaglia), who has been trying to bust the gangster for years. As Marie and Joey work together to track the gangster, Macelli becomes more powerful and devises a scheme to create a mob family of bloodthirsty vampires. In pursuit of the evil gangster, the sexy vampire and tough cop fall for one another in a seductive and otherworldly romance.Their passion for one another only helps to fuel their desire to catch Sal before he creates more bloodsucking corrupt businessmen. What follows is a sickly funny horror romp as Pittsburgh's number one crime family becomes populated with zombie killers. [More]

Innocent Blood is an uncomfortable marriage of vampires and mobsters; it doesn't work on either the supernatural or the criminal level.

This anemic vampire tale boasts an interesting premise but suffers from lethargic pacing and an overdose of splatter special effects.

It loses steam and coherence about midway through, leaving us rooting for it but doomed to disappointment.

The incessant shots of old, and better, vampire movies on the various characters' TVs become distracting and annoying.

It lacks the bite (so to speak) of the classics in this genre, but is a stylish blend of cool black comedy and obvious gore.

Regrettably, all too often the tone lurches from stylish suspense to smart-ass in-jokiness and silly slapstick.

Pretty fair vampire film suffering from Landis' usual over-producing.

A stupid, badly paced horror-comedy that's not funny, scary or suspenseful. A dog.
