What are some of your favorite unknown/low budget horror films?

I've got a few that stick out, though I've seen far too many horror flicks. (I have FEARnet).

The Innkeepers
Frayed
The Loved Ones
The house of the Devil

Just a few that I quite enjoyed. How about ya'll?

Also want to add Rogue to my list. Excellent croc terrorizes boaters movie!

Sorry but I hated the Innkeepers. It was boring and the girl(spoiler alert!!) had to be the stupidest character in horror movie history(and that's a lot of stupid people to contend with. She deserved to die for being so stupid. That movie was just a whole lot of nothing happening.

Yellowbrickroad
REC
Absentia
VHS 2
Troll Hunter
Triangle
Hollow
Red State
Carriers
The Tunnel
Hell
The Frankenstein Theory
Apartment 143
The Objective
the Shrine
Stake Land
Grave Encounters.

Low-ish budgets I suppose, not sure where the cutoff is. Definitely a variety of 'mood' movies though. I'm particularly taken by the psychological mindf*ckery as opposed to the dismemberment factor.

Grave Encounters 1 and 2, REC

REC was okay, but you lose any credibility with Grave encounters 1 & 2. Unoriginal, boring, poor acting etc. Just my own opinion.

Grave Encounters was mediocre at best, in my opinion. The sequel was absolutely terrible. I'm actually a big fan of REC.

I wouldn't exactly consider Men behind the Sun to be a horror film even though it contained some of those horrific images ever to be captured on film.

Has anyone seen Session 9? I find myself looking it up on ON DEMAND every single day to the point where it has became a daily ritual, but like every other day, they don't have it. I'll be getting NETFLIX within the week finally, so I'll be glued to the couch for quite some time.

Also, this movie had its moments, but it was mostly filled with poor executed/dull shorts. If you get a chance to watch it, I would recommend a few of them. The ABCs of Death might be the most disturbing, mind-boggling, funny, and most crude movie I've ever laid eyes on. The letter L, I think it was, is a scene in cinematic history that will never be forgotten in this mind.

The most disturbing scene** for "L" that is.

I've only seen Murder Mansion out of that list, but any horror movie that I haven't seen, that has the potential to be a hidden gem is definitely worth a watch.

This one isn't low budget, but I think it's fairly unknown to the average horror viewer: Trick 'r Treat

This one also flies way under the radar: Amusement. The third act/third part of the "story" was not in my liking, but the first two were pretty good IMO.

I thought Amusement was too silly but Trick R' Treat is good campy fun. I liked that movie.

Was it released in limited theaters? Or can you get it on ON DEMAND or NETFLIX? I'm finally getting NETFLIX within the week so if they have it, I'll definitely give it a go!.
