How can you say that when you're so blatantly wrong?

After seeing some of your other reviews, I have come to the conclusion that you are awful at reviewing movies. You should stop. Immediately.

Your comments are very valuable to me. In EVERY SINGLE CASE, you are so off the mark that all I have to do is think the opposite and I will be good to go. Thanks for being so poor in your job and please keep up the consistent work. I hope you are paying Atlantic City Weekly and not the other way around.

You're right--the movie is critic proof to fan-boys like me, BUT, my wife who abhors my comic collection and all the dust-collecting action figures actually got a kick out it. Evidently, this movie wasn't for you...I don't think that any superhero movie can not have an "absurd" plot (mutants? dudes dressing like bats and spiders? guys who build kick arse flying suits of armor?)...you should've gone into the movie prepared to suspend your disbelief...ALSO, if you'd done a bit o' research on the man o' iron, you quite possibly would have appreciated the way Favreau and crew distilled hundreds of characters and storylines into a two-hour jaunt through comicdom.

How the hell did you get a job as a movie critic. I mean, everyone has they're own opinion, but you are so off-base it's disgusting.

OMG! That was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time! How can you rate it so poorly? Everyone is entitled to their opinion; but this is suppose to be your job!
The acting was excellent, the story line was flawless. I was pleasantly entertained through the whole movie.
I left thinking that Hollywood finally did a good one.

Were you awake during the movie? Eat something bad before it? Wake up on the wrong side of the bed? Did you hit your head on the door while entering the theatre? I can't understand how you can come up with a negative review on this movie!!

Both my husband, myself and our teen age son loved it!

"as a statement on the culpability of America%u2019s military-industrial complex, it lets its anti-hero off the hook."

"The sequence that shows Stark building his toy while his captors, despite having constant video surveillance, don%u2019t notice is beyond ridiculous. It%u2019s a suit, people, not a rocket."

These are the only part of your review I agree with - even a mock rocket obstructing the video surveillance would have helped this gaping flaw.

That said, this was an excellent movie and I have fallen in love with Downey all over again.

God, you're awful at this. I hope you don't get paid, because you certainly don't deserve money for what you do. Iron Man was just about the best live-action superhero movie I've ever seen, and your comments on it are irrelevant and show what an inept pig you are.

"The sequence that shows Stark building his toy while his captors, despite having constant video surveillance, don't notice is beyond ridiculous. It's a suit, people, not a rocket."

Pish, posh. I hope you get raped by a hillbilly.

Wow do you people go around looking for a bad review to debunk, if so im sorry for whatever happened in your childhood. However, hey im writing a comment so i guess im screwed up to. This is a horribly bad and stupid review. Can this reviewer understand that she is wrong. If she can't you should be able to. Just ignore this review.

It is our civic tomato duty, Chaser.
We have to berate, belittle, and (if we're lucky) badger these hack critics who are systematically manipulating the Tomatometer as much as possible!!!! Otherwise, every diabetic, Hershey Bar junkie, pseudo-philosophical granny with an iBook will soon be controlling the curve and ultimate rating of good movies that WE ALL want to see. You're movie liberty is at stake, grasshopper.

I love how you start your critique by assuming that the movie's intention was to be some politically relevant commentary about the war in Afghanistan. Obviously on that front it failed, but what you fail to understand is that this wasn't the point of the movie at all.

As for your first statement that the movie failed as a comic book inspired superhero thriller is completely bogus and you do nothing to back up such a baseless claim.

A lot of the hardware is built in plain sight. These parts can be ambiguous, and they even address that briefly in the movie. The guards watching him say something along the lines of "Is that what it's supposed to look like?" However, it's clear that these guys are no scientists, and clearly don't know enough to raise an alarm. When Stark actually builds the outer shell of the suit, its in a blind spot of the camera where the guards cannot see it.

Were you actually awake during the movie? did you watch this scene at all? Before posting an asinine review, make sure you actually know what you're talking about

This review was obtuse.

In no way is the movie setting intended to be some profound commentary on the state of your nation today. That rediculous assumption is the kind of bovine fecal matter you get from first year college students trying very hard to impress their peers. Grow up.

This movie was a flight of fancy, of imagination: made to stir the same emotions that you get when you read your first comic book at 4 years old (could you read then.. or is that a recent development?).. it is not a political-social commentary.

Stan Lee created many fantastic characters in his time.. all of them reflecting the internal struggle and the search for ones place in a world that defies perception. Iron Man is no different.

I think Jon Favreau has done justice to the imaginations of many of us who grew up loving these characters and relating to their basic struggles, strengths and character flaws. Yes, the concept is fairly hard to swallow if all you can appreciate in life is the complexity fed to you from the liberal arts morons who strive only to complicate art.. but if you like plain and simple wonder and beauty and imagination come to life. This movie was excellent.

To Jon Favreau, Robert Downy Jr, and the unforgettable Miss Paltrow.. Thank you.
