When Iron Man is zooming above bejewelled southern California, I expected a thundering lyricism but instead settled for some routine CGI stunts. I suppose it's asking too much for a great actor to be matched up with a great director.
Well that's what happened and you still don't seem happy.

Christian Science Monitor, eh? Suddenly your opinion has even less merit.
May 2 - 01:21 PM
If the "Monitor" says it's bad, then it must be just awful. I always love the Christian Right to review my comic book movies. It must not have had enough God in it, and for sure has some sort of left wing politics involved. This is like Paris Hilton trying to explain economic policy or Carrot Top trying to be funny.

and insults for the idiotic reviewer,

I am not really sure what this "writer"'s problem is. Why is it bad that they were in Afghanistan. It makes sense in terms of the story. Right?Just because they made the story more contemporary and added hints of realism (i.e. U.S. weapons in the hands of Afghanistan rebels. We did fund them after all.)So, How is that a bad thing? I just don't get it.I thought it was great. If the writers had made him some kind of U.S. freedom fighter in Afghanistan, battling the forces of Terrorism, that would have been silly. But, they chose to comment on current events instead.Top notch movie, terrible review.

I suppose it's asking too much for a great movie to be matched with a great reviewer.I'll let you in on a little secret, Peter. A critic's credibility rests entirely upon his or her perceived consistency of opinion. And seeing as how you've just rendered your cinematic opinion largely INcredible (and not in a cool Hulkish way, I might add) via your inability to acknowledge an undisputably superior [superhero] genre film when you view one, there's very little reason to trust your opinion on movies in general.
May 2 - 04:04 PM
Poor Peter just cant seem to wrap his head around the fact that a superhero movie can be smart AND entertaining. This, ladies and gentlemen, is a great example of someone in the throes of denial.
May 2 - 05:01 PM
Did you even see this movie?
May 2 - 05:18 PM
I agree with this review. I didn't think IRON MAN worked.
May 2 - 05:31 PM
Yeah. Like you're not a ghost alias of the critic. Iron Man worked, alright. And I might add, WORKED HARD.
May 2 - 11:06 PM
hopefully nobody takes this review seriously. when you have to break out your thesaurus to write a review, you have already failed- F for effort
May 2 - 08:31 PM
A few clever remarks in this review, but saying the director isn't great needs more support. I felt the director was a genius.
May 3 - 03:07 AM
lol "Christian Science Monitor" rofl wafflesnice fail
May 6 - 05:58 AM
I really hate that one of you talked about busting out the thesaurus to get through this review. If you really had trouble "decoding" this guy's writing, you're probably not smart enough to try and tackle his taste in films.
May 11 - 07:23 AM
dude you believe in an invisible man in the clouds... review NULL AND VOID.
Christians hate on ANYTHING in movies that goes against their beliefs and they are incredible bias. They should just delete your reviews from the site entirely.

Is there anything more boring than the United States? This movie dripped with everything tedious and cheesy that defines who Americans are.
