Killian a rip-off of Syndrome from the Incredibles?

Was anyone else struck by the fact that Killian's handicapped self reminded me of the boy who wanted to be the sidekick in the Incredibles and later becomes Syndrome, the main villain? They both rely on technology to do their dirty work, both like hanging people with their arms out like Jesus (Killian does it the President, Syndrome does it to Mr. Incredible) both threaten loved ones of their nemeses (whose names both start with "I") and both meet with fiery deaths.

That's like saying Ms. Pots is a rip off of Belle from Beauty and the Beast; they're the same, very old, character archetype.

I loved Incredibles, and I have to say I never was reminded of it while watching IM3. But I find it funny Syndrome's death is much more brutal than Killian's, despite the fact that Incredibles was targeted to a younger audience. Being dragged by his cape into an airplane propeller is quite a way to go.

It was just very similar to me how they were both star stuck of their heroes in the early going of the film, both dismissed and then both come back transformed, powerful and vowing revenge.
