Rookie sergeant Ed Brown (Don Galloway), policewoman Eve Whitfield (Barbara Anderson), and reformed criminal Mark Sanger (Don Mitchell) aid Ironside as he works as a consultant for the San Francisco police department. In this season, which originally aired in 1968, the gang hunt down a jewel thief, look into the career of a policeman who has been accused of murder, and encounter a chatty Mynah bird who may offer them clues to an unsolved murder.
