A slow-burning but ultimately devastating look at revenge gone awry, with Press conveying a subtle mix of bolshiness and fragility.
It's good to see Natalie Press - so good in My Summer of Love - back on the screen, but this is a flimsy film.
Directors Brek Taylor and Elizabeth Mitchell can't quite manage the fantastical imaginings of the two would-be lovers without creating a fey tone that destroys their realism.
The quasi-fairytale atmosphere is adeptly handled, and Kathy Li's cinematography imbues proceedings with a chilly beauty.
