Debbie Reynolds steals this show as Maggie, a showgirl dying to marry rich, but ready to live poor after she plants her lips on hunky Glenn Ford. Ford is penniless air force sergant Joe Fitzpatrick, whose good luck wins him first prize in a raffle--a forty thousand dollar car. When Fitzpatrick is transferred to Spain, not only do the wife and car follow, but so does trouble. His C.O. is highly suspicious of Fitzpatrick's good fortune, and a highly celebrated toreador is more than a bit jealous. If this weren't enough trouble, wife Maggie becomes worried that Fitzpatrick only married her for her looks, and decides to cut off all conjugal relations with Joe to make sure. With costar Eva Gabor making a big noise and light-handed director George Marshall at the helm, IT STARTED WITH A KISS is nothing but 1950s fun. [More]
