A ragtag band of refugee youths--representing Jews, Christians, Communists, and the lovelorn--escapes the turbulence brewing in 1930s Poland by running away to the countryside. This acclaimed debut film from director Zauberman garnered her the coveted Camera d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. In Yiddish, Polish, Russian and Gypsy dialects with English subtitles.
