Critic Review - Christian Science Monitor

How believable is DiCaprio? When I first heard he had been cast as Hoover, I couldn't think of another actor physically less likely to pull it off. But he's surprisingly good.

Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Javier Bardem... And definitely Daniel Day-Lewis, if and whenever he is actually working.

I'm sorry, but Bale and Bardem only have breakthrough performances. Dicaprio has always been good.

Michael Fassbender, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman ... shall I go on?

Honestly, though. Whenever I see DiCaprio onscreen, it always feels like ... DiCaprio. With the exception of his performance in What's Eating Gilbert Grape, he never seems to fade into the character he's playing. I don't know. Maybe it's just me.

Leo is better than all those you guys just named imo, other than Daniel-Day Lewis. Maybe Gosling can tie at his level but prob not.

No disrespect to Leo, but I would go with Edward Norton

I was just saying that you forget it is Leonardo. Gilbert Grape, he was so magical, then he did Titanic and it was oh no. Didn't get me back on team Leo until Blood Diamond and Catch Me If You Can.
