There's a good chance you'll be laughing hysterically at one stunt, but getting grossed out by the next one in this big screen version of the controversial MTV show.

Johnny Knoxville and his crew of fun-loving masochists bring their routines to the big screen in this feature adaptation of the popular but controversial MTV series Jackass. A crew of young men perform a variety of strange, painful, and often humiliating stunts for the amusement of themselves and those around them, including crawling across dozens of mousetraps while wearing rodent make-up, being rolled down bowling lanes on skateboards, racing in golf carts across an ancient driving range,

It's not exactly stupid. Cynical might be a better word.
While there is no scientific proof, chances are good your teenagers will leak brain cells by the thousands while watching Jackass. And you might even want to see it with them.
Jackass: The Movie is a disgusting, repulsive, grotesque spectacle, but it's also hilarious and provocative. God help me, thumbs up.
Maybe the best way to look at Jackass: The Movie is as a piece of conceptual art. How far and low will these guys go? What's the pinnacle of pointlessness?
Compared with Jackass, professional wrestling is scripted by Moliere.
Critics need a good laugh, too, and this too-extreme-for-TV rendition of the notorious MTV show delivers the outrageous, sickening, sidesplitting goods in steaming, visceral heaps.
More idiotic and dangerous than the show. Really.
Superficial shenanigans don't diminish its effect. It's a ridiculously funny barrage of taboo pranks, practical jokes and tests of both social altruism and Bam Margera's parents' patience - most of it failsafed so that the foolishness never subsides.
The movie is designed to play for one audience and one audience only: existing Jackass fans.
The Jackass boys show little interest in observing anyone else but themselves.
... I would not encourage owners of the original DVD to upgrade.
To call it performance art, one would first have to submit to the idea that it is art, which it clearly isn't. (Unrated)
For fans of Jackass and those who like to watch people torture themselves in a somewhat controlled environment, this is a great and loaded DVD.
So what's all the fuss about? If people want to staple paper to their inner thighs, let them. The question is whether you're prepared to pay to watch them do it.
Franchement, Jackass: The Movie se doit d'être vu même si l'idée de départ ne vous enchante guère.
Horrible.
Needs more crashes, fewer bodily fluids, and a shorter running time. while that first half is great, the thoroughly milked premise ultimately takes its toll, and the gross-out gags seem done more out of desperation
Outrageously obscene and unflinchingly funny.
A hysterical and energetic film, but not for everyone as it is quite revolting at times. If your not squeamish and in the mood for comedy you'll love this.

Jackass humor = my kind of humor. I love everything this gang has ever made, even if some gags are flat-out distasteful. This first film isn't as ingeniously funny (or well-planned for that matter) as number two and three, but it's still very entertaining and has some pretty epic moments.
