The wiles of Hollywood and the film industry open up and devour Jamie King (Jamie Foxx) in this satirical show from 1996. Working hard to become a star, Jamie has to perform a delicate balancing act between working at a hotel that his family owns, and honing his skills as a stand-up comedian. He uses his working time to test out his act, to the annoyance of sparring partner and coworker Braxton Hartnabrig (Christopher B. Duncan). [A] minstrel show... an embarrassing carnival the likes of which should have gone out with button shoes...
Because there's little in the way of features, I'd recommend this as one to own only if you're a huge fan of the show or of Foxx in general.
