Mitsubishi Announces 3D Blu-Ray Players
Just imagine the fun of License to Wed in HD3D!
According to SciFi.com (reporting via UberGizmo, which linked to an article at Crave), Mitsubishi has decided to enter the Blu-Ray fray -- but that isn't the cool part of the story. The company's players will bring hi-def goodness to consumers, but they won't stop there, no sir: Strap on a pair of goggles, and they'll bring it to you in 3-D. And not just specially made discs, either -- Mitsubishi claims its technology will be able to take plain old 2-D flicks and make three-dimensional magic happen on the fly.
Okay, admittedly, wearing goggles on your couch isn't really anybody's idea of fun, but in a marketplace where you can buy a regular old DVD player for the price of a tank of gas, this extra wrinkle adds some neat-o factor to Mitsubishi's wares, and should help nudge more patient (or less solvent) consumers down from the fence. Have you purchased a next-gen player (or two) yet? Does this affect your decision?
