Jet Lag is sort of a grown-up version of Before Sunrise... The difference between the two films is sort of depressing.

Synopsis: Juliette Binoche and Jean Reno play strangers who meet in an airport (via cell phone) when their flights are canceled because of a strike in Daniele Thompson's romantic French comedy JET LAG.... Juliette Binoche and Jean Reno play strangers who meet in an airport (via cell phone) when their flights are canceled because of a strike in Daniele Thompson's romantic French comedy JET LAG. Binoche is Rose, a woman obsessed with makeup and style, who is seemingly shallow and selfish. Reno, taking a break from playing action heroes in American films (GODZILLA, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE), is Felix, a lonely former chef who is now a frozen-food king. Rose is seeking a new life in Mexico, far from her abusive former lover, Sergio (Sergi Lopez), while Felix is heading to Munich to recapture something he has lost. Both have dysfunctional relationships with their parents--Rose with her mother, Felix with his father. As they are stuck in Charles de Gaulle Airport and later in an airport hotel, truths come out that force them to face their uncertain futures. Elisabeth Tavernier's costume design for Rose is a riot; Binoche wears lots of makeup and very bright red and blue outfits. Reno, in contrast, plays his character with a quiet, sad solemnity. Interestingly, Thompson began her career writing screenplays with her father, actor-writer-director Gerard Oury, and she cowrote JET LAG with her son, Christopher. [More]

Reviews for Jet Lag
Jet Lag is funny and bright and deals with characters just damaged enough to make them comfortable.
While there aren't many surprises in Jet Lag, there's joy in watching the film's stars -- the ever-likable Juliette Binoche and Jean Reno.
This is the kind of movie that they show on planes -- white noise that lulls you to sleep.
This slight but thoroughly charming film benefits immeasurably from the assured performances of leads Juliette Binoche and Jean Reno.
Director Thompson and her two A-list stars take a grand holiday from their usual seriousness, exploring all of the possibilities offered by this situation with charm and style.
This movie doesn't exactly soar to never-before-reached heights, but it gets off the ground and sure beats sitting in the airport for two hours.
You'll be surprised that you're this interested in a story that's restricted to an airport.
Top pros Reno and Binoche play out this conceptual ragout of the mediocre and the exceptional with precision and gusto when it's called for.
An alarmingly unfunny French comedy where the two main characters are constantly yakking on a cell phone at an airport.
