It's only distinction being it's the best film ever with Jive in its title, beating out the 1976 Jive Turkey by a country mile.

Maturing child star (and ex-Our Gang member) Dickie Moore stars in this wartime musical. A free-spirited troublemaker at his stuffy classical music conservatory, Peter (Moore) organizes an all-girl swing band against the wishes of his professors. It's mainly just for fun, but when his soldier father is killed in action overseas, Peter decides it's time to get serious about the swing. He and the girls help boost morale by turning a nearby barn into "Jive Junction," a canteen for servicemen to take their ease with some big band music and swirling swing dancing. The main attraction at the junction is a pretty youngster named Gerra Young, who regains the boys with lots of peppy numbers. Co-starring: Tina Thayer, Bill Halligan, Cora Ashley and Beverly Boyd. Cult director Edgar G. Ulmer (THE BLACK CAT, DETOUR) departs from his usual stark, expressionistic style for this patriotic spirit-raiser, which should be just fine with fans of swing music, and these sorts of films.
