The finished entity feels like a rip-off of a film that ripped-off several rip-offs of Carter's own ancient source material.
Your an idiot. Edgar Rice Burroughs wrote John Carter of Mars long ago. Many may have ripped him off but he wasn't ripping anyone off. Try reading moron. Your knee jerk reaction indicates ignorance, and not much more.

What is written in the excerpt is that the movie feels like a rip-off of other movies which are based on books that rip-offed the stories that this movie is based on. Try reading moron. Your knee jerk reaction indicates ignorance, and not much more.

Really??? Have you read the books? I doubt it. The film was was one of the better adaptations that I have seen. Maybe you should try a laxative, and watch it again.

The film I thought was a good adaptation of the books, updating some minor things to keep up with the times, cultural sentiment, but the film feels like the book, so yeah it feels like some of the movies that ripped-off John Carter, but what do you want, John Carter to not feel like John Carter? Seriously.

Indeed, John Carter, best swordsman of the solar system, unwilling to fight? Not a word about Captain John Carter being unaging? Not about him being a fighting man? Changing the meaning of Dotar Sojat?
Woola and Dejah Thoris are portrayed better than ever before, granted. And in itself it is a pretty cool movie, but it lacks in John Carter.
