Total Recall: Willem Dafoe's Best Movies

Summary

It's Taylor Kitsch's handsome mug that's plastered all over the John Carter trailers and posters, but he isn't going to Mars all by his lonesome this weekend -- he's surrounded by a great supporting cast that includes Ciarán Hinds, Thomas Haden Church, Dominic West, and... drum roll, please... two-time Academy Award nominee Willem Dafoe, whose appearance as the brave Barsoomian warrior Tars Tarkas was just the excuse we needed to devote this week's list to the critical highlights from one of the more admirably eclectic filmographies among today's working actors. Action blockbusters, dramas, even animation -- as we're about to demonstrate. It's time for Total Recall! Back to Article

If you are a fan of Dafoe, you have to watch David Lynch's "Wild at Heart" to see Dafoe portray Billy Barew. His character is both creepy and hilarious, and I could not imagine any other actor being able to pull off this role.

these lists are often poor. All some editor does is choose the top tomato-rated films that an actor has a role in.

These lists should be a lot more thoughtful, please. Choose films in which the subject of the article actually has a starring or majorly featured role.

Otherwise I may just stop clicking the links that generate that revenue you're so desperate for.

He was pretty amazing in Antichrist, but that movie is incredibly polarizing. I loved it, but it's definitely not for everyone. The psychology of is it impeccable, though.

Chaos reigns.

JEFF GILES?? WTF?? I know you generally stick to the % numbers, BUT both INSIDE MAN and PLATOON have 86% - why pick the former? And don't give me the number of positive reviews crap, b/c you all break that rule all the time.

Boondock Saints has a horrid critics review, explains why its not on here. Haven't seen it myself so can't comment one way or the other.

+1 for Platoon however
