Trailer Bulletin: Awake and Rambo
Hayden Christensen, Jessica Alba, and Sylvester Stallone, oh my!
by Jeff Giles | October 29, 2007
Discuss Article
A pair of new theatrical trailers made their first appearances online over the weekend, and Yahoo! Movies has 'em!

First up, we've got Awake, the medical thriller starring Terrence Howard, Hayden Christensen, Jessica Alba, and Lena Olin that debuts November 30. The official synopsis:

A man lies awake during heart surgery after reacting badly to his anaesthetia, causing his wife to make some crucial decisions.

The plot's a little more complicated than that, of course, but fortunately, the trailer is here to shed some light on the movie's twists and turns. To get a gander at Christensen on an operating table, click on the first link below!

Next, it's the official theatrical trailer for January's Rambo, the fourth installment in Sylvester Stallone's long-running saga. We don't have a synopsis for you, but hey, it's Rambo! Who needs one? To get a glimpse of Stallone running amok in the Burmese jungle, click on the second link below!

Rambo is done? Wow that was fast. I thought they were still in talks.

I wonder if Stallone will revamp his other film "highlights" such as:

Throw Mama From the Train, Demolition Man, Judge Dred...

I think you meant the classic "Stop, Or My Mom Will Shoot!" instead of "Throw Mama...".

Actually looking forward to this installment...mindless fun.

That was "Stop or My Mom Will Shoot!" not "throw momma from the train" ...lol. But both movies suck equally. I actually liked "Demolition Man" but what was up with those damn three seashells... haha!

huh? So what was Throw mama from the train then?

Anyway, shows how much I care... lol.

I thought it was going to be called "John Rambo"? Eh, I guess he realized that it would be too similar to "Rocky Balboa".

I prefer the earlier, hilariously bloody trailer.

So now it's RAMBO. The title is great and that poster is amazing. Too bad trailer one was so ridiculously bloody I spent the whole time LMAOing. That scene where he throws an arrow to a guy and the guy like, explodes, is just hilarious.

No, the best scene from that earlier ridiculously bloody and funny trailer was when he fired a gaitlin gun at a soldier 3 inches away and what's left of him resembled ketchup.

Stallone now looks more like a transvestite with his daring eyebrows. And his aging steroid-used body/skin looks like my grandma's saggy breasts. And why does his voice sound more husky? It sounds like a child pornographer. Not that I would know what they sound like.

As long as he stays true to his Rambo character and not go overboard, this is gonna be a fun movie.

Awake looks kind of cool.

Stallone looks jacked- you have to stop with the surgery/roids after a while.

I'm digging both of these films. 'Rambo' looks like a good raunchy comedy.

rambo looks like a throwback to the rambo days of the 80s. i like how he is creating his new blade with his own hands. rambo looks good for everything except the pudgy roided up 65 year old stallone. but whatever, i'll let nostalgia suspend my belief.

awake was actually shot a long time ago, so im a little skeptical about it, since they delayed its release by over a year or so i think.

regarding alive, somebody help me out here. i saw a trailer for this movie "sublime" that looked like the same, is this a remake of that, and was "sublime" any good?

and how many times in one trailer can they show alba's bare back? no one wants to see that, now "barebacking": that's a whole different story.

instead of "throw mama..."...maybe he's thinking of Twins, de vito and ahnuld. who knows, who cares...

i laughed so hard during the Rambo preview, wow. the acting...the voice...was hilarious. very good trailer before the soon to be Oscar nominated Saw 4. went amazingly well with "Eyes" as well, the alba trailer that had no dialogue. alba not talking...GOOD, alba in clothes? eh, not so good.

people, THINK. stallone had to take roids to get into shape. sorry, you can't be RIPPED and 60 something years old with MASS and do it naturally. its just not a normal thing. i think it made him slow too...he didn't SOUND normal. he sounded like a spawn of al gore and ahunold if they had a kid in the special olympics...

Umm...not go overboard? I guess you haven't seen the aforementioned "turn the jeep driver to bloody mashed potatoes" preview. Probably the most insane U.S. movie preview I've ever seen. Combine the carnage with Stallone's burnt-out, botox-and-steroid-riddled-zombie persona, and it damn near traumatized me. I laughed for a week.

I still can't understand how Jessica Alba still has a career in acting. Jessica Alba is a poison. She has not yet made a descent/successful film especially when she has a leading/major role (Sin City doesn't count because you could have Rosie O'Donnell playing the character Nancy and the film would have been as successful and probably better acted).

Why can't Hollywood understand that beyond her beauty, she's got absolutely no talent? And even though all the boys have wet dreams about her, she can't make a descent box office (Into the Blue, Good Luck Chuck). Brittany and Paris deserves more respect than this girl.

Saw the John Rambo trailor last May and it blew my mind. So over the top that I must admit I can't wait to see it.

Stallone pulled off one more Rocky so why not Rambo.

btw. It was HGH not steriods that Sly got busted with.
