Fifth Rambo on the Fast Track?

Matanuki writes: on Mar 24 2008 05:27 AM If Stallone can't do it, nobody can! In fact, I'm actually more convinced of Stallone's reprisal as John Rambo than I am of Eastwood's resurrection of Harry Callahan. (Reply to this) |

Elixor writes: on Mar 24 2008 06:01 AM The last Rambo movie was actually good, and was a great closure to the character. No more movies are needed, but of course money moves things even when they shouldn't be moved. (Reply to this) |

xenogears writes: on Mar 24 2008 06:07 AM In reply to this comment (#1650372) It was good and it did give good closure but so did the last Indian Jones movie. You are absolutely right that its not needed but since when has hollywood gave any kind of care about whats needed. (Reply to this) |

aconline writes: on Mar 24 2008 07:14 AM Anything to keep a Death Wish remake out of theaters is fine with me. I will watch this. Cliffhanger 2 is lame, too. I still think that Tango & Cash 2 or Driven 2 would be better. Rambo 5 is fine, just no more Rocky. The 6th was final. (Reply to this) |

clarksville1976 writes: on Mar 24 2008 07:16 AM I agree, not all movies deserve sequels and follow ups.... but if the cast and story are there, why not give it a shot. (Reply to this) |

Matanuki writes: on Mar 24 2008 07:33 AM In reply to this comment (#1650508) I'm actually interested in Stallone's idea for a Death Wish reboot. But then, I couldn't care less for a Driven sequel. So that puts on opposite sides of the fence where these films are concerned. At least we agree on Rambo and Rocky. (Reply to this) |

cypress550 writes: on Mar 24 2008 07:58 AM rambo was a decent movie but i think it should ended in the fourth but on the other hand it might be good. (Reply to this) |

Kollikodon writes: on Mar 24 2008 08:07 AM Why not get Stallone's *** in the Death Race 3000 movie... Machinegun Joe... c'mon (Reply to this) |

Shatter24 writes: on Mar 24 2008 08:11 AM Let the Rambo storyline end on a highnote. Why are we pushing this? I would rather see a Death Wish re-make w/ Stallone, that series is ripe for an overhaul and Stallone is the perfect actor/director to do it. Then he can ease off the 'roids a little and let his body rest. (Reply to this) |

arendr writes: on Mar 24 2008 08:36 AM Let me guess. When he reaches the house at the end of that mile long walk, his dad has been killed by Jihadists and he goes back to Afghanistan to slaughter all the Mujahadins he helped before? And Rambo was one of the dumbest movies I've seen this year. In fact, it was borderline offensive the way he tried to give it some kind of political message with all that genocide going on. It was like saying "genocide is bad, but 14 year old boys like to see babies getting impaled! awesome!!!". (Reply to this) |

BarbarianMonster writes: on Mar 24 2008 09:09 AM The last Rambo movie was better than Saving Private Ryan. (Reply to this) |

ck100 writes: on Mar 24 2008 09:10 AM It would be nice if Stallone could do an original movie instead of making unnecessary cash-in sequels or remakes. (Reply to this) |

xenogears writes: on Mar 24 2008 09:28 AM In reply to this comment (#1650603) You must not have seen very many movies this year then cause there is plenty worse that came out this year (All 3 months of it). And Rambo was Rated R so unless they planned of having a crap ton of people breaking the law when they were thinking this up I doubt they were trying to market this to 14 year old boys (17 and older to get in without parent/guardian). Why is it offensive to have a pollitical message? It's not the humans beings having arms, legs, and heads blown/cutt off (whick I loved) but the fact that it has a politcal message thats offensive........wow. (Reply to this) |

JUDGE DREDD writes: on Mar 24 2008 09:31 AM In reply to this comment (#1650603) arendr i believe you are greatly wrong here. Stallone didnt glorify the genocide, he showed a small sample of what IS actually going on over there, and also in the rest of the world. He pointed out whats going on. And used a movie to show the world who didnt know, or chose to ignore it. And you werent supposed to cheer at the parts where they impale kids, your supposed to cheer when Rambo shows up and wipes out all that did wrong! If there was no build up with the genocide then it would have been a mindless killing spree with no-one to root for. Sly did an awsome job. And had it come out a month earlier it would have been my favorite film of 07, but that title may be saved for TDK or Iron-man. I think you should watch Rambo again. (Reply to this) |

JUDGE DREDD writes: on Mar 24 2008 09:37 AM In reply to this comment (#1650603) Also as i forgot to say. I too think they left Rambo on a high note, best in the series if you ask me. It would be great to leave it as is. That said, if a Rambo 5 does come out, i will be first in line to see it. Personally a REMAKE of JUDGE DREDD is more neccesary to me, but with maybe Ron Perlman as Dredd. And i do mean REMAKE NOT SEQUEL. Maybe even using MOCAP. I thought Stallone was making THE DAM next? (Reply to this) |

arendr writes: on Mar 24 2008 10:06 AM It's obvious that Stallone wasn't trying to glorify the genocide. The writing and acting was so abhorrent that the message looks like a joke. And political messages aren't necessarily offensive. It's how they are executed. In this case, it came across as mere brutality, just like The Passion of the Christ. If you think that Rambo's message was powerful, I suggest you watch more films. And come on, rated R just means MORE 14 year old will see it. I saw a family bring their 4 year old to that movie. And seriously, that scene with the bomb was hilariously bad. (Reply to this) |

donwillymo writes: on Mar 24 2008 12:58 PM I can already see the casting call bulletin...looking for asians or middle eastern to be killed vietnam style by gun crazed american veteran. No lines or dialogue required, no english speakers okay and experience in acting like you're getting killed a plus. (Reply to this) |

ThinPhantom writes: on Mar 24 2008 01:16 PM In reply to this comment (#1650967) haha! they should just be done with it and put out a casting call for bin laden himself. he seems to be hurting for work lately. (Reply to this) |

scduregger writes: on Mar 24 2008 02:43 PM I think they need to leave Rambo alone. Let the series retire already! The last movie was fun, but pleeeeease! no more Rambo movies! Let it end on a high note and be done with it. (Reply to this) |

arendr writes: on Mar 24 2008 02:49 PM In reply to this comment (#1651141) Ladies and gentlemen, one of the 14 year old boys I was referring to. And donwillymo, you've pissed me off in the past but that one was great! (Reply to this) |

RottenRob writes: on Mar 24 2008 04:18 PM Perhaps Rambo will become a vigilante border patrolman, or maybe he'll fight alien invaders! Or maybe he'll just be "battling" some disease. Yeah, that's the one. A subtle, dramatic turn for the series. Rambo "4" was awesome, and it sure felt like the end, but of course I'll be there for some hot Rambo action on the streets of the U.S.A. Neo-nazis, maybe? Yeah, let's start that war. Oh, how about military robots on a secret Arizonian military base go out of control! Or C.H.U.D.! Yes, Rambo vs. C.H.U.D.! RAMBO vs. C.H.U.D.!!! (Just in case some of you young'ns aren't up on your classics, that's "Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers.") (Reply to this) |

Trufire writes: on Mar 24 2008 08:27 PM To quote a phrase, "Why?" Uggggg I suppose I should watch a Rambo first though to really pass judgment. Maybe it is a law though that anything Sylvester stars in CAN and WILL be made into at least 3 sequels. MINIMUM! :-P (Reply to this) |
