Looking at a period of little over a year from 2002-2003, this documentary tells the stories of seven different journalists who died while covering volatile and dangerous situations, beginning with the tragic death of Daniel Pearl and ending with the that of David Bloom. Many famous, big-name journalists, such as Dan Rather, Tom Brokaw, and Peter Jennings narrate and offer their views on the terrible circumstances that led to these deaths. Produced with the goal of educating about the dangers of on-site journalism and a plea of support for those who risk their lives to bring others the truth, JOURNALISTS KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY highlights an important consequence of the increasing reach and scope of worldwide media.
