Formed in the dreary factory town of Birmingham, England, Judas Priest pioneered the 1970s new wave of British heavy metal with the furious guitar riffs and leather-clad imagery of groundbreaking albums such as BRITISH STEEL, POINT OF ENTRY, and SCREAMING FOR VENGEANCE. But after influencing scores of 1980s metal bands like Metallica, Priest found themselves overshadowed by the very scene they helped create, and, after the departure of lead singer Rob Halford, devolved into a mere shadow of their former selves. ANGEL OF RETRIBUTION is the first Priest album in 15 years to reunite the band's original lineup (including Halford) as they attempt to recapture some of their previous glory, which--through ferocious rockers like "Judas Rising," "Deal with the Devil," and "Wheels of Fire"--they amply do. This dual disc features the CD version of ANGEL OF RETRIBUTION on one side and a DVD-Audio version with surround sound mix and bonus video material (including a reunion documentary and seven classic tracks recorded live in 2004) on the other.
