EATEN ALIVE: Umberto Lenzi (CANNIBAL FEROX) directed this CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST-like horror movie, an unintentionally hilarious pastiche of elements from other cannibal movies. Janet Agren stars as Sheila Morris, a young executive from a New York City corporation who is sent off to Malaysia to team up with a mercenary named Mark Butler (Kerman) to destroy a cannibalistic cult headed by a fanatic named Jonas Melvyn. Soon, Sheila and Mark are fending off hordes of flesh-hungry cannibals, only to discover that Jonas is behind the cannibal attack and has gone completely mad. Filled with nutty inane dialogue, gratuitous nudity, and footage lifted from past films like JUNGLE HOLOCAUST, EATEN ALIVE is an entertaining and often very funny movie. MASSACRE AT DINOSAUR VALLEY: An action-adventure story about a handsome paleontologist and a group of explorers who venture into the tropical jungles of the Amazon in search of the mythical "Valley of the Dinosaur." All the women in the party are captured by a tribe of bloodthirsty savages. JUNGLE HOLOCAUST: Ruggero Deodato directed this cannibal movie just before his classic CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST, the acme of the popular Italian cannibal subgenre of horror films and generally considered the most disgusting and vile movie ever made. Massimo Foschi and Ivan Rassimov star as Robert and Rolf, two scientists working for an oil company who lead an expedition to an island off the coast of South America. Soon after they arrive, things begin to go awry, as they gradually begin to realize that they are trapped in the jungle with an ancient cannibalistic tribe. When two members of the team are captured, along with the entire advance team, Robert and Rolf must find a way to infiltrate the cannibals' camp and free their soon-to-be-eaten friends. [More]
