Jurassic Park IV Plot Details Leaked
Please let this be a joke.
by Jeff Giles | August 14, 2007
Blog Article | Discuss Article
Over at Bloody-Disgusting, this is quickly shaping up to be the Week of News About Sequels You Will Not Want to See -- hot on the heels of yesterday's report about Alone in the Dark II, the site is offering up a bit of incredible (in the worst sense of the word) news about Jurassic Park IV.

According to the item, casting for the sequel -- which has already been confirmed to feature Laura Dern -- is officially under way, with filming set to begin in Kauai later this year. But that isn't the incredible part, oh no. Straight from the article:

We're told that the film is about the government which has trained dinosaurs to carry weapons and use them for battle purposes.

Okay, not that the original Jurassic Park was Citizen Kane or anything, but we remember the thrill of seeing the first movie in the theater, and even though we long ago wrote off further installments in the series as deeply unnecessary, we're really struggling with the notion that anyone on the entire planet would think this storyline is a good idea. It really sounds like the kind of thing that might have been dreamed up by a precocious seven-year-old after a few too many bowls of Fruity Pebbles. Which puts it half a leg up on some of the other stuff we've seen in development, but still -- they have to be kidding, right?

Right?

Jesus! I hope there joking seriously, I mean I grew up on Jurassic Park, The Lost World was okay and 3 was a big dissapointment, but I honestly can say that if that is the plot of the movie then I wont go see it.

Really? I would've watched a live-action Dino Riders movie when I was 8, but not now.

Man, and here I thought my powers of 'cynical prick'ness were at their peak-- I was thinking 'What could they POSSIBLY say about this movie that would make me have less respect for industry executives..'

And then they drop this. ****ing live-action dinobots, without the 'transformers' part. Please, if there is anything holy about this universe, let someone high up get fired over this. At least humiliated or balled out in front of the entire office. Maybe dumped by his girlfriend while he's proposing. Scalding hot coffee poured on his lap? ..I say 'his' because --and take this however you want-- no woman, straight or lesbian, would/could/should come up with putting weapons on dinosaurs.

This has to be a sick joke. I loved the 1st two and liked the 3rd but this just sounds stupid. Is this going to be a SciFi Channel Original movie?

lemme see the cast rounded up...and a trailer...and i'll make a better judgement. the thing that gets me is the "weapons" part. they're already frikkin dinosaurs...what else do you want? just say they were trained by mike vick...and they feed on the enemy the military designates. i COULD see that working, but i think everybody is picturing the worst. it just depends on where the plot goes with the idea. to the warzone and you see the dino's in action? or the military base where they've being held and somehow escape(minus the "weapons")...causing panic? its not off to a good start though but, we know one SUPPOSED part of the movie. you can't COMPLETELY write it off just yet...but get your pens ready

OK, having just read about the horrible thread about dinosaurs with guns.
(A concept i saw in some jurassic park comic books about the dinos being bread for combat/also it happenned in some Aliens comic.)

I have decided to share a brief description for a Jurassic Park 4, movie script i was too lazy to write a few years back, as i love JP. And you MUST read the books if you havent already.

OK, here goes.... and it is NOT a complete story, just some basics.

.....

The story kicks off on the Original Island of Isla Nubar, site of the actual Park, and not site B, featured in both the sequels.

It is 5 years since JP 3. And the Park has been re modified and is now fully functioning to the general public. Hammond finally got his wish.

The park has been open for 2 months, and has been a world wide phenominon. However the park has a very diffrent re-designed layout. Instead of all the perimeter fences as they were, they have been replaced by huge white observation tunnels (like in Jaws 3) the tunnels have electrified fences on the outsides of them. One advantage of the tunnels is that they can cross scenic valleys and mountain ranges making the views more spectacular. Also added safety.

Also, instead of seperating ALL of the dinosaurs, some of them are free to mingle, alowing nature to take its course and for the viewers to witness real dino fights and births etc..

There is also a strong military presence on the island as extra security. including a ranger station, with helicoptor etc...

Anyways, this being JURASSIC PARK, something has so go sh*t-shaped at some point. My idea is for terrorists (either religious fanatics or animal rights protesters) to pose as engineers, they manually shut down the power grid, and have created a bomb that blows a huge section out of the tunnel. All the safety doors behind the visitors are now locked, and a band of survivors have to battle their way forwards, which will include crossing a canyon, riding up a river(as in the first JP book) where they face the T-rex and lots of spitting Dilophosaurs. They also have to travel through volcanic areas where the Raptors nest. The military has to search for them and get involved in some hot shootem-up action, etc etc...

Well, thats roughly it, without me writing a book of it all, something i would love to do.
So if you liked that idea, you may also like my ideas for a ghostbusters 3, and various other storys iv dreamed up. If you hated it, well, suck my b*lls!

heres a poster i made too...

I'm pretty sure they're trying to keep the plot under wraps, and this was just a joke when asked what it was about.

"So what's the script about?"

"Oh, you know, Dinosaurs getting trained by the military to become elite super soldiers. That sort of thing."

This CAN NOT be real. NOBODY is stupid enough to greenlight that.

Wow. I'm stunned. With all of the potential they could string out of Jurrassic Park sequels they come up with this?

I remember reading a Dark Horse comic or one of the other lesser printers & seeing some trash like that in print...surely this is not legit?
