(the script a bit-been-there-done-that, though) As for the post, if this is a joke, it's not even funny; too bad an after-taste. If not, the peanut-brain who came up it must be retarded all the way back to the Jurassic; a serious misstep in JP's already crippling evolution, nay regression. (Reply to this) |

Exode writes: on Aug 14 2007 10:13 PM Cast Milla Jovavich to play a half naked genetically altered amazon woman who fights the dinosaurs with her bare hands and I'm sure Spielberg would lose hope in humanity and resort to alcoholism to make everything right again. Smart dinosaurs with guns, no, military use seems b-movie yet salvageable and a logical next step in a way. Why wouldn't they want there hands on something so powerful? Also to improve upon the original methods of their creation? (Reply to this) |

Atticus is HIGHLY TENSE writes: on Aug 14 2007 10:25 PM In reply to this comment (#1039001) Well, you don't have much of a story there except for sequelized contrivance much like JAWS 3. That story just kicks the dead horse even further. I'd rather take my chances with weaponized dinos, than a Jaws 3 rip off. (Reply to this) |

sorednax writes: on Aug 15 2007 04:47 AM The bitterest pill to swallow is that there is someone out there with tons of money and no common sense. If you want to throw away money, send it my way. I wonder what the pitch was like??? Pitch: So, we got this idea to use the Jurassic Park Franchise to tell a story about Dinosaurs that are equipped with rockets and machine guns to wage war, as their being controlled by the Government. Investor: Brilliant!!! Here's $100 million. (Reply to this) |

Vitamin M writes: on Aug 15 2007 07:47 AM Calvin and Hobbes! that's hilarious. anyway when I read this "news" a year or two ago the idea was credited to Steven Spielberg. and really a movie about giant robots transforming into cars made $300 million meanwhile a kid wizard, a guy with the abilities of a spider and a giant green ogre with a talking donkey and cat have all been ruling the box office. So from a business stand point I don't see how the dinosuars with guns idea is really that bad. it might be a stupid film but you know what I'm enough of a child at heart to think "T-rex's in F-16's" and think "hey that's funny, I'll have to see that." and at the very least I would think that this news means they are trying to reinvent or redifine the series instead of just doing the exact same thing again like what Bat-Fink is suggesting. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with your idea except as you point out yourself, it's all been done before either in previous JP's or in Jaws etc. so hey here's something that sounds original so let's give it a chance...at the very least it will probably be the only way we can see anything close to what a Turok Dinosaur Hunter movie would look like. Vitamin M writes: on Aug 15 2007 07:58 AM In reply to this comment (#1039997) Admiral Snowstorm I agree with you completely! if they are going to try and make a blockbuster weird *** movie then go all the freaking way instead of pussing out making another carbon copy. so everyone calm down and go rent Dino Riders...no matter what it has to be better then that show. Prosper761 writes: on Aug 15 2007 09:39 AM What moron though that this story would draw anyone over the age of 8 into a theatre? I can't imagine that either Speilberg or Crichton would allow the franchise to move in such an insipid and outlandish direction. Just another example of talentless number crunchers running the studios into the creative grave. (Reply to this) |

Infernal writes: on Aug 15 2007 10:35 AM They won't honestly make it like that. They're not THAT stupid. I am excited for another Jurassic Park. If people DON'T like sequels, do NOT see the movie, simple as that. (Reply to this) |

tuswraith writes: on Aug 15 2007 12:14 PM In reply to this comment (#1038995) That's a f***** awesome idea bat-fink. I can't say I approve of the poster, but I do approve of the great plot. It's new, yet it goes back to the roots of why we all love Jurassic Park in the first place. Dinosaurs stalking people in the wilderness. None of this T-rex running through San Diego BS. The most successful sequels are the ones that return to the formulas (with new ideas obviously) that made them great. I'd like to see more of the ideas from the Jurassic Park and Lost World BOOKS be brought into the movies. You can see elements of the first book in the original movie, but also in the Lost World (the compys (sp?) attacking the little girl) and in the third (Birdcage idea, as well as riding down the river, although not exactly the same). God I hope this latest news is a farce. BTW, has anyone played Trespasser? Although it failed as a game, I loved it because of how ambitious it was, and I think it could potentially make a good story. Go the 28 Days Later way and make a sequel that brings in entirely new characters looking at the story from a different angle. (Reply to this) |
