Jessica Biel Nabs Wonder Woman Role in Justice League of America?
Beautiful as Aphrodite, wise as Athena, swifter than Mercury, and stronger than Hercules?
by Jeff Giles | September 25, 2007
Discuss Article
Now that we know George Miller's live-action Justice League of America film is on the fast track at Warner Bros., how about some casting news?

According to a report posted at Variety last night, the production may have found its Wonder Woman -- and she might be Jessica Biel.

She'd be sort of perfect, no?

The studio, naturally, declined to comment -- Variety says Warners "prefers to announce an entire cast rather than piecemeal deals" -- but, as the article notes, Biel's involvement could not only add some marquee weight to the JLA cast, but also help spark new interest in Joel Silver's long-gestating Wonder Woman film.

Not to mention interest in a shiny-bustier-wearing, golden-lasso-wielding Biel.

Perfect! You can't have a skinny Wonder Woman. She's gotta have a body like Jessica Biel's.

Babe meets Babe; not much going for Miller except Babe, not much going for Beil except The Illusionist. Not much going for Justice League either if this is the best they can come up with.

No, she wouldn't be perfect. She can't act and she looks like a man.

I have to agree with Dracus when it comes to Miller and Biel. So far Justice League is shaping up to be another Fantastic Four type piece of crap.

I don't have high hopes for this movie AT ALL. WB is just going for a bunch of twentysomethings to appeal to a younger audience, rather than going with moderately older(30's) actors, or some in various ages, to give the roles more depth from the actors' experiences/talent. All they're going for is a bunch of pretty faces and hot bods, which is sad. Plus, with a script by sucky actor Dermot Mulroney's BROTHER and SISTER-IN-LAW, for God's sakes...! This is just shaping up to be one serious Nightmare on Elm Street for JLA fans. :-(

Although Jessica Biel is a good choice, the whole idea of a Justice League movie at this point is foolish--especially if Warner Bros. is willin' to delay The Dark Knight. I say screw the JLA movie and get TDK and TMOS out there wit' little difficulties.

Given, George Miller made "Happy Feet", which pretty much was a hit critically and financially back at the end of last year. Don't understand why, but maybe it will benefit "Justice League of America". Though I wouldn't compare it to "Fantastic Four"; Tim Story turned into a lousy director at that time (he couldn't find the perfect balance between superhero film and comedy, something that Brad Bird was able to perfect in "The Incredibles"). Of course, "Fantastic Four 2" was an easier pill to swallow, but that's just me talking. All I'm saying is, give "JLA" a shot. Miller's too much a solid director at this point for Dermot Mulroney's brother and sister-in-law to **** it all up. Besides, Jessica Biel made me love her again in that Adam Sandler film.

You guys are hilarious, dogging on Biel's looks. Her face may be questionable, but there is no doubt about her body. It works, it's hot, but I agree it may have to buff out for WW. As for this movie, I don't think it should be made at all. Too many heroes how many villains = Spiderman 3 atrocity or worse.

I hope this project collapses and Warner ends up with no tentpole film in 2009.

If it turns out even 5x better than Fantastic Four it will still suck to amazingly aweful levels.. On the other hand I think this movie will be lucky if it is anywhere near as good as Spidey 3.. Spidey 2 was the sucky one right? Am I the only person on here that thinks that Spidey 2 was a load of stinking crap?

Jessica Biel sounds like as good a choice as any to me. She's a real woman -- not some Barbie doll. And she has the talent to give the character real depth.

I had always thought that Monica Bellucci would make a decent wonder woman. Jessica Biel just doesn't seem right to me. Just my opinion though.

You got it backwards, mbrocchi. Spider-Man 2 was the best one, Spider-Man 3 was the crappy one.

I agree with Metafact. Spidey 2 is at least twice the movie Spidey 3 turned out being.

With that said, not thrilled about Biel as Wonder Woman, but of course I'm one of the few that want comic book characters to actually look like the comic book characters.
