on Apr 08 2008 05:52 AM Just give up on this pathetic idea. Kingdom Come is an infinitely better idea and now that it has been announced I bet they will scrap this completely. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Apr 08 2008 06:37 AM bring on the pathetic hatred comments from comic book geeks.... (Reply to this) |

on Apr 08 2008 06:42 AM Kingdom come has been announced? I thought that was an April fool's joke. I read about it here on RT on the same page Titanic 2 was announced... (Reply to this) |
on Apr 08 2008 07:42 AM Best news I've heard all day... apart from some of the staff losin' their jobs. That's never good. x_X (Reply to this) |
on Apr 08 2008 08:01 AM I doubt this will be much of a problem, to keep them from continuing with the film. These problems come up in pre-production, its pretty commonplace (look at what The Hobbit has gone through to get made, and people WANT to see that). It may be sidetracked but this won't kill it, only George Miller dropping out could do that at this point (since his passion and prestige is the strongest selling point). (Reply to this) |
on Apr 08 2008 08:30 AM They have a better chance at making Barney the Dinosaur into a movie than this. Give it up! (Reply to this) |
on Apr 08 2008 08:35 AM Sadly, Barney the Dinosaur already has a movie. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Apr 08 2008 08:44 AM This movie is never gonna happen. WHy cant MILLER jost got do MAD MAX 4? (Reply to this) |
on Apr 08 2008 09:29 AM Oh I'm sorry crystalwhiteeyes but I think this movie unfortunately has a huuuuge chance of getting made. Anytime Hollywood has the opportunity to churn out crap it will take it. I mean what could mean more potential $$$$$$ than flying super powered cast members of the O.C.? (Reply to this) |
![]() on Apr 08 2008 09:39 AM They should make it, but they should do a mocap version inted with kevin conroy as Bats. Beowulf looked incredible, think how this film could look. (Reply to this) |
on Apr 08 2008 09:48 AM In reply to this comment (#1676197) Talking about 'pathetic' posts... Dude, if you're not a comic book geek, yourself, why the h#ll are you posting on here? And if you ARE a comic book geek, get the f#ck over yourself and contribute something. Me, anything that reduces the likelihood that this ill-conceived exercise gets made makes me happy. -Again with the allowance that I'm sorry people may lose their jobs. (Reply to this) |
on Apr 08 2008 10:20 AM bob just go eat your hot pockets and play warcraft. i hope this movie is done. awful awful idea. some things just can't be mad into movies. i'd be a fun thing to see. but without real talent behind it, it's just be a big mess. (Reply to this) |
on Apr 08 2008 10:20 AM In reply to this comment (#1676442) lol, now that you mention it, I think you might be right. My apologies. The movie will be made. I'd also like to happily say that I didn't know Barney the Dinosaur had a movie. What about that curly redheaded woman with the lamb? With the catchy, yet oh-so annoying theme song. Please tell me that wasn't made into a movie. (Reply to this) |
on Apr 08 2008 10:22 AM Tombstone; Bob* is just some freakjob who always feels a need to post on any forum comic related and insult folks for no reason. Pay him no attention, he's not worth it. As for Kingdom Come: It was an April Fool's joke, folks. Unfortunately(or fortunately, looking at what's going on with JLA) there's no plans for it. Personally, I'd prefer for it to never get made, rather than have Warners totally f.uck it in the a$$ like they're doing with Justice League(Justice League Mortal: Dumbest Title EVER). As for the JL movie itself: Sorry to hear about folks possibly losing their jobs, but since when is ANY other country a solid substitute for shooting a (primarily) American-themed movie in America? Stay dead, Justice League Mortal, STAY DEAD!!! (Reply to this) |
![]() on Apr 08 2008 10:24 AM Imagine that... JLA is trying to do something on the cheap. LOL I'm glad to see it on hold again. The only news that could be better is if it gets perminantly shelved. (Reply to this) |
on Apr 08 2008 10:46 AM Good. Keep it that way. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 08 2008 10:52 AM **** this project...getting sick of all the delays. Just can it already. No movie has had this much pre-production on it before even a CAST and FILMING LOCATION was set...those costume designers are idiots and deserve to lose their jobs for signing onto something that isn't even set in stone...it would be like building a new stadium for a football franchise then, before the contract was even signed, they changed cities. This is just making everyone out to be foolish, and when the ax finally drops and this thing gets put out of it's misery once and for all, I'll say I told you so. I do like the idea of doing to mocap like Beowulf...would solve any problems with casting (anyone with a mask gets a voice actor!) and could be done without any of the pre-production nightmares they've been dealing with (who in the hell cares where it's filmed? Cheap-asses trying to get a tax break...if you're IN for the movie, go ALL IN, budget Furt (Reply to this) |
on Apr 08 2008 11:05 AM In reply to this comment (#1676491) Lambchop. LOL. Nope. No movie. Sherri Lewis, the curly red headed lady, died of cancer years ago. If she were still alive, it would probably be in production for a Summer '09 release. Oi. (Reply to this) |
on Apr 08 2008 11:22 AM The delicious irony of this entire project is that with all the money they've wasted so far(scouting Australian locations, costume design, etc.) and the with all the $$$ they're about to waste by flying to New Zealand and other countries to negotiate and scout further locations, is all bucks they could have saved if they just had the brains to stay put in the U.S. and film here, thereby keeping their budget down overall. Shoot U.S. set films IN the U.S.! The group is the Justice League of AMERICA, for goodness sakes(even though they've struck the America from the title--way to go, political correctness), not the Justice League Down Under! Maybe whoever's cast as Superbrat will make a rousing speech about how the JL should stand for "Truth, Justice and all that other stuff". Woo-hoo. (Reply to this) |
on Apr 08 2008 11:41 AM Yesterday, The Governor of Michigan,(I call her Governor Bambi) announced with little fanfare her plan to make Michigan the 2nd most unemployed state instead of #1 (Alaska #2). 40% tax cut if you film in Michigan. Period. So, JL, come to Michigan. . . Whenever people mention films they get giant doe eyes. If I had a choice of where to film, I'd probably pick Vancouver. . .do the editing and cgi elsewhere. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Apr 08 2008 01:00 PM Not to be like everyone else (but I guess I am going to anyway) but this movie... is most likely going to be incredibly bad. Any time you have to rush something like this (or any movie really), it is never a good thing. Never. This is going to end up being like Waterworld or something along those lines. Which = horrible, incase anyone forgot. (Reply to this) |
on Apr 08 2008 01:18 PM "Justice League Back on Hold." Good. Now can somebody do something original for once? (Reply to this) |
on Apr 08 2008 01:43 PM It is amazing that this movie is already considered 'incredibly bad' by some when no scenes have been shot. (Reply to this) |
on Apr 08 2008 04:22 PM Okay, I think that they need to go on with this project. Just think about it, projects that usually take years to get made, come out better than these pieces of garbage that are made within a year. And I am excited because I would like to see what wonderwoman looks like? (Reply to this) |
on Apr 08 2008 06:17 PM Okay I've said it once I'll say it again why would I pay $10.00 to watch a JLA MOCAP in a theater, when I know the video game tie in is going to come out two weeks before the movie is released? Oh yeah, so I can waste my money on the same thing twice. MOCAP sucks, yes that includes that crap sandwich Beowolf.I'd rather watch Steel or Elektra than sit through a hour and forty-five minute long video game in a theater. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Apr 08 2008 07:12 PM In reply to this comment (#1676458) "if you're not a comic book geek, yourself, why the h#ll are you posting on here?" beacuse I am a movie geek of course. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Apr 08 2008 07:16 PM In reply to this comment (#1676495) "Bob* is just some freakjob who always feels a need to post on any forum comic related and insult folks for no reason. Pay him no attention, he's not worth it." LOL what?! XD I hardly post anything these days! XD and what forum comic?! Next time, try to know more about me before saying anything ok? ;) (Reply to this) |
![]() on Apr 08 2008 07:23 PM People, these "this movie ssuuucks" arguments are getting pretty old. I mean, let's face it, NOBODY has seen anything about this movie. We just heard rumors about cast, rumors about the story and rumors about the development. It may end up good or bad, nobody knows! Let's give it the benefit of the doubt! It may be a fun movie or a great one but until not REALLY seeing we can't say a thing! (Reply to this) |
on Apr 08 2008 07:51 PM Actually, Bob*, I've seen you insult comic book fans and call said fans "geeks" or "nerds" several times on different posts, usually comic book film related. Yes, you haven't posted anything recently, but you always turn up near the top of such a post with a blanket insult ready. As for griping about the movies before anyone sees anything--a somewhat valid point, but it's the nature of people(ESPECIALLY those who LOVE cinema and their childhood heroes in general) to make observations(positive or negative) on whatever information has been disseminated through the moviemaking machine. EVERY indication that we've seen so far about Justice League--its casting, storylines, choices of location, even the title--demonstrates that it will suck harder than a hooker going for the trophy at a blowjob contest. And if you even try to say that you "never" criticize a movie based on info you've heard before it comes out--whether on these boards or in your personal life--I call 100 percent BULLS.HIT on it(appropo, given your choice of avatar). There's not a human alive who doesn't judge a book by its cover at one point or another. The ONLY thing I'm saying is that there's no need to come on these boards and posts general insults at comic/film fans for no reason, other than to berate us for liking what we like, being passionate about it, and wanting the source material treated with respect. IF your only reason is to come on and troll away, congrats--here's your trophy. Stick the tip in your garter belt. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Apr 08 2008 08:09 PM Just to confirm the "Kingdom Come" movie story was indeed an April Fool's Day joke (because I wrote it !). My intention was to show an example of (one of many) an awesome DC Comics story that could be adapted as a movie that would be wayyyyy cooler than the flimsy attempt that "Justice League Mortal" appears to be. If you're going to make up a movie based on a beautiful JLA-related movie, "Kingdom Come" is the obvious choice. Having said that... I really hope it happens some day. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Apr 08 2008 09:08 PM In reply to this comment (#1677251) Ok calm down buddy. First of all...those are insults? gimme a break! everybody tends to use those words in a regular basis not only here..heck I even heard them many times myself. Besides, you gotta admit that are some people that just gives dumb comments just to incite others. I may say some harsh things but is just for joking like many does here. second I am not trolling at all. and yes we all criticize movies based in perceptions but sometimes we try to do our best not to once while, right? and I dunno what you have against me. I don't anything against you or anybody here. So take it easy ok? is not that big deal and we are all here for the same reason: to discuss about cinema. Peace. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 09 2008 06:24 AM In reply to this comment (#1676541) Lambchop! That's it!, lol. I forgot the poor woman passed away. So there's Barney that was made into a movie, thankfully Lambchop wasn't! I know sadly the Power Rangers were made into a movie. I think 2 of them actually. Wasn't Sesame street made into a movie? I highly doubt Mr.Rogers was made into a movie either. I'm lost with the tv shows made to films, especially the really cheesy tv shows :) (Reply to this) |

on Apr 09 2008 07:35 AM In reply to this comment (#1677391) Bob* I actually think it's kind of ironic that your latest response to others' posts, angry with your first comment, was exactly what I would've hoped you would've posted in the first place (..it makes sense. trust me). Here's the thing- your first post was EXACTLY what you call a 'dumb comment just to incite others.' There was no substance to the comment other than to belittle ALL posters who don't like this movie; 'pathetic' comments by 'comic book geeks.' ...I don't understand why you're confused how people took offense to that. GETTING back on track, here, I agree with the premise that you obviously can't *KNOW* how this movie will be until you see it. However, having followed the industry as an interested observer for a number of years, I'm pretty comfortable calling it like I see it and I see the same problems with this that thereign listed. I might even agree about the hooker. (Reply to this) |

on Apr 09 2008 09:54 AM In reply to this comment (#1676563) 40%, eh? : makes own Justice League franchise where Supes and the bunch fix all the potholes in this state... that'll take ten movies, easily, four hours each : Where'd you hear this story? I'd like to viddy it. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Apr 09 2008 11:02 AM In reply to this comment (#1677726) wow...well is obvious that this place is to sensitive. I just made an ironic comments like many does here and everybdoy attacks me without a normal reason. Ok, I won't say a thing agaon. I apologize. I thought I was in some other place. It seems that some can make "funny comments" and others not. Sorry. (Reply to this) |
on Apr 10 2008 07:03 AM Wow, was THIS conversation a waste of my time. Bob* The fact that you think what you wrote was 'ironic' settles it; You are either an attention-seeking hypocrite or simply extremely dense or both. I wish you good luck with that and feel free to post whatever mindless crap you will later innocently claim not to understand. To the rest of the posters (who are still reading this string) I apologize for not listening to you. (Reply to this) |

on May 03 2008 05:58 PM This movie has been a joke from the get go! Lets all hope they don't ever actually get to make this film and desicrate further these beloved characters in the all too popular "Smallville" fashion. (Reply to this) |
