Jim Belushi Making The Catch
If Fred Durst can direct a movie, by golly, so can he.
He's long been a favorite target for critics, but that hasn't stopped Jim Belushi from carving out an admirably long and successful career in front of the camera. Now, as Variety reports, he's preparing to step behind the lens for his feature-length directorial debut.
Belushi will direct (and star in) The Catch, based on the real-life story of Marty Reichman, who returned to college at the age of 42, learned he was still eligible to play football, and made the team. The deal was apparently brokered after a meeting between Reichman and Belushi, in which Reichman told Belushi his story personally. David Murray has agreed to write the script.
Belushi, who starred in 1989's K-9 and its two blockbuster sequels, K-911 and K-9: P.I., will film The Catch after completing 18 episodes of the mind-boggling seventh season of his ABC sitcom, According to Jim.

Myriada writes: on Aug 30 2007 09:55 AM I don't know. I liked him in "Joe Somebody" and "Return to Me". I do wonder about his taste in projects sometimes, but he has a very likeable quality about him that people pick up on no matter what he does. (Reply to this) |

Scarborough Fair writes: on Aug 30 2007 10:25 AM Rated_Xpert, I disagree. Neither of them are all that talented. I can't think of anything that Jon Belushi ever did that would make me laugh more than another actor in the same role. It's like people were fans of his because it was almost surprising that he could do anything given the amount of drugs they assumed he was on. I was entertained by Jim Belushi when I was a kid in that movie where he gets wishes or something from Micheal Cain...uh...Destiny? I don't know. Now he entertains me only through David Cross' hate for him, which is very funny. Search for a clip on youtube of a drunken David Cross jumping on stage while 'the Belush' is singing at a club for a loud laugh. (Reply to this) |

arendr writes: on Aug 30 2007 03:14 PM Wow...a Jim Belushi movie is news on this site with all of us movie snobs? Must be for the entertainment value of the smarmy statements we're bound to make. And I'm not crazy about Jim Belushi either. Must have been a "had to be there during the time" thing. I'm just a couple years too young for that I guess. (Reply to this) |

Scarborough Fair writes: on Aug 30 2007 04:57 PM Hey zgberg, I got about a minute into 'samurai laundry' or whatever on youtube, the same character *I assume* from samurai deli. I can't really honestly say that was funny. It was ok, but I had to turn it off. I really think Jon Belushi is overrated. (Reply to this) |
