Movie Info

Thriller about mysterious murders that take place on a film location. Which of the crew is guilty? Or is it someone from outside? Keeps you guessing till the end. No song and dance numbers to dilute the suspense here, just a plain old-fashioned who-done-it, as good as they come.

Audience Reviews for Khamosh

Same old detective story where almost every main character is presented as a suspect, and the one that seems the most innocent turns out to be the one responsible for murders. Following the strategy of (most) suspense/thriller film plots in last century, it's quite outdated now.

A 1985 classic thriller from Vidhu Vinod Chopra. The movie is about a series of mysterious murders among a film crew at Pahalgam starring Shabana Azmi, Amol Palekar portraying themselves.
I always believe that the Back ground score has a definite role in good movies especially a suspense thriller like this one. Its clear that the director was inspired by Hitchcock style of movies and other Hollywood classics. Some of scenes are real good. But he refused to take the credit away from them. He even had an old black television set showing a screaming Janet Leigh concurrently with Shabana's shower scene... and shows a copy of the novel 'The Godfather' prior to a scene where Shabana Azmi discovers the carcass of a dove under her covers. I'm a bit surprised that no one has ever told me about this movie. Neither a mention among the Bollywood classics. I just got curious when i happened to watch some of the scenes from Doordarshan. And my bro got this movie as per my request. Definitely its Worth a Watch.
