In Your Dreams

More like the "attack the messenger" thread. Sorry, but this many professional journalist's accumulated opinions can't be wrong. And you're not making yourself look any smarter by broadly defining them as "the critics". These are people from all walks of life who chose to review movies for a living, 75% of them found the movie severely lacking and all the internet fuming in the world isn't going to change that. Perhaps you should shift your focus onto something else that exercises your mind, like astronomy, or chess, since critic's opinions only seem to bring out the worst in you people. As for the movie, I haven't seen it, and I won't, because, well, it looks even more juvenile and moronic than the first, oh and 75% of critics gave it a rotten ON A SITE CALLED ROTTEN TOMATOES WHERE I COME FOR ACTUAL CRITICAL OPINIONS

This thread show exactly why critics are needed. If people think this is a great film. We need people who know what they're talking about to say it isn't.

In layman's terms, we need critics to offer some proper critique. Especially when terrible films like Kick Ass is seemed to be loved by the audience. It offers a balance.

They don't review movies for enjoyment. They analyze and pick part the movies like a college assignment. Tell me which method regular people use to watch movies? People like you who think there are such things as movie watching scientists need to get a grip.

Weird. This is technically a great film: the fight choreography is perfect, the acting superb, the plot consistent. I understand a lot of people don't like violent action films but why grade it against something it is not? In my opinion this is one of the great films of all time and there is something seriously wrong with the film critics. Are they all just copying off each other?

Critics really don't have a clue about whats good and whats bad. I used to think that although my taste in movies is rather eclectic, these reviewers are obviously out of touch with reality. You can really tell when you read their stale reviews and figure out that they really should be reviewing documentaries. That's more of their ball park

I really don't get how they can give F&F6 a 75% ish rating, and give Kick-Ass 2 a 28% (atm).

I loved it just as much as the first one, although the digitalized scenes were a let-down. But still, it is a great movie that keeps the dark humor the first one had, and has plenty of dark moments to compensate for the laughs.

The contrast with IMDB is huge, as it keeps going up. Now at 7.5 out of 10. People are actually at that point that they feel the need to defend this movie and question RottenTomatoes that suddenly ignored a lot of positive reviews. I'm nowhere on this, cause I haven't seen it. Just sharing the things I notice.

Read the sequel's comic first, and then you should anticipate this film. After reading the comic about a month ago, I for one am very excited to see how this turns out. It basically upgrades the story of Kick-Ass, and how vigilantism by random individuals impacts society, it was written with honesty, and quite frankly, some extremely grotesque violence of course XD For critics I'm not sure, I don't quite know how much they appreciated the first film, seeing how Roger Ebert (favorite critic) hated it for the wrong reasons. But I'm really looking forward to seeing how this turns out, even if it turns out to be too ridiculous for critics and audiences, I'd probably see it anyway, because I really enjoyed the comic and it's message about vigilantism.
