Combining the talents of BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD creator Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, who has written for THE SIMPSONS, SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, and THE OFFICE, KING OF THE HILL is an animated satire of the American middle class. The show has maintained its popularity over the first 10 seasons it has aired, and this collection contains the first three seasons in their entirety. Set in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas, the show turns on the struggles of Hank Hill, the conservative, old-fashioned, beer-drinking head of the Hill family. Hank lives with his strong-minded wife Peggy, a substitute Spanish teacher, as well as his chubby, misfit son Bobby and Luann Platter, an aspiring beautician and Peggy's niece, who came to live with the Hills after her mother was arrested for stabbing her father with a fork. Hank passes the time drinking beer in the alley with his buddies the conspiracy-theorist Dale Gribble, who doesn't suspect a thing when it comes to what's going on under his nose; Bill Dauterive, a divorced former barber; and Boomhauer, whose luck with the ladies is even more inscrutable than his garbled speech. These characters contend with the vagaries of modern life, managing in the process to address prescient issues while maintaining a constant level of intelligent humor. [More]
