Reviews for Knock Off
Something of a kaleidoscopic mess of a movie, but it has its moments.
Action-packed, cheesy, and not worthy of the Academy’s attention, but, for those so inclined, it is worth the rental price.
The special effects and outrageous camera angles rule Knock Off to the point where the audience doesn't have a clue as to what's happening any more.
The fact that hardly anything makes sense in the film didn't discourage Tsui Hark.
An amusement park special, screaming from start to finish with no brakes, no plot and no acting to speak of.
Most of the crowd simply walked out briskly, shaking their heads and loudly discussing how amazingly bad the film was. These people renewed my faith in humanity.
The immediate reaction after seeing this movie aims to match it with a more appropriate title modeled from the direction and acting: Jack Off.
Almost worth attending for the experience of seeing how low film makers can sink in their never-ending quest to bilk the action picture audience out of a few hard-earned dollars.
Much of Steven E. De Souza's script sounds like it was run through one of those erratic language translation programs... 'If he knew it was a nanobomb, he wouldn't be carrying it around like a cough drop' is one of the more memorable lines of dialogue.
So ludicrously over-the-top that it's hard to take seriously, even if you're a Van Damme devotee.
