Movie Info

This Danish documentary surveys the life of Polish filmmaker Krzysztof Kieslowski. He is best known for his Three Colors Trilogy that is comprised of the films Blue, White and Red. In conversations filmed just a few months before his death, documentary director Krzysztof Wierzbicki attempts to probe Kieslowski on his work, life and philosophy. Given Kieslowski's unforthcoming response to questions about why he made his internationally acclaimed television series, The Decalogue, however, it

He comes across as a modest, wryly funny, and intensely intellectual man, and his comments on both the ethics of filmmaking and his own work, from Camera Buff to the Three Colors trilogy, are fascinating.

Anyone not familiar with Kieslowski's films will likely be frustrated; simply put, he's not the most animated documentary subject. But for anyone who misses his unique voice... it should be a pleasure.

This little movie, a soft pencil sketch of a life that should be etched in stone, is an intriguing glimpse through a doorway left slightly ajar.

Audience Reviews for Krzysztof Kieslowski: I'm So-So...

I'm So-so is a very short documentary/Interview with/about the director Krzysztof Kieslowski. It's nothing out of the ordinary, there are no special effects, he's just a fascinating character. I found this film, which is essentially a DVD extra, to be utterly fascinating and completely compelling. A must for fans of Kieslowski's films, and indeed fans of film in general! It is piratically poignant seeing as he sadly passed away soon after it was made.
