La Kryptonite Nella Borsa Reviews

June 4, 2012
Set in the 70's, this movie wanders through tropes from that era, as explored by an awkward boy's family. Deliberately quirky, but the love of the characters is plain.

A wonderful little time capsule, full of Italian mods, swingers, depressed mothers and their psychiatrists. Meanwhile, an ugly duckling is allowed to watch all of this from the shadows and (one assumes) take this peek into adulthood to make individual choices, rather than suffer from being different.

More fun for the characters, scenes and costumes than the actual story of the boy's upbringing, but a worthwhile time at the theater, nonetheless.
