Virin (Anil Kapoor) falls desperately in love with Pallavi (Sridevi), but his shyness prevents him from revealing his true feelings. His dreams of winning her fade completely when he finds out that she's to marry another man. Years later, when Virin meets Pooja (Sridevi, in an award-winning dual role), the mirror image of Pallavi, he finds a second chance to follow his heart in acclaimed director Yash Chopra's tender love story.

A movie much ahead of its time in the story and picturisation of emotions. Sridevi does a wonderful job as mother and daughter and so does Anil kapoor as a man who is in love with the mother but eventually ends up falling for the daughter.
