Intrepid British archaeologist Lara Croft (Angelina Jolie) has made perhaps the most important archaeological discovery in history: an orb that leads to the mythical Pandora's Box. Unfortunately, the orb falls into the hands of Jonathan Reiss (Ciaran Hinds), an evil scientist who deals in killer viruses and hopes to sell the secrets of the box as the ultimate weapon. Recruited by British Intelligence to get the orb back from Reiss, Lara enlists Terry Sheridan (Gerard Butler), a British marine turned mercenary--and her former love interest--to help. The two embark on an adventure that spans continents in an attempt to regain the orb. Lara is a walking advertisement for "girl power." She's brilliant, athletic, courageous, and saucy. She flips jet skis, parachutes to safety from tall buildings, dives, rides horses--nothing seems beyond her. Best of all, Lara is one of the good ones--she'll do whatever she must to keep the world safe. Directed by Jan de Bont, this film was shot on location in Greece, Kenya, Hong Kong, England, and Wales. Better than its predecessor--and, yes, that's every bit the backhanded compliment it sounds like.

... true to the look and spirit of the game and ... more fun than watching someone else play 'Tomb Raider,' which was the bane of the first Lara Croft installment.

The new Lara Croft has no reason to exist except that the first one made money.

There remains the essential truth (and Tomb Raider 2's fiscal failure speaks to this) that even without analysis, there needs to be some meat on the bone.

The pace can best be described as similar to crawling through quicksand with two broken legs and a refrigerator strapped to your back.

It’s not perfect (it’s a sequel after all), but the latest Lara Croft film is smart, sexy and great summer fun.

'Es una película regular que si se ve con el humor adecuado puede llegar a gustar, pues lo único que promete – y ofrece – es un rato de esparcimiento'

. Proves again that Jolie makes a better magazine cover than actor and Lara Croft a better game than rousing archeological adventure. .
