  • Steve Goodman was a songwriting genius and a visionary of folk music. His ability to paint accurate portrayals of uniquely American concepts allowed him to stand with the upper echelon of artists of his kind. Steve remained a vibrant force on the music scene through the 1970s and early 1980s.
  • In 1982, it was disclosed he had been battling leukemia since 1969. The disease took his life in 1984 at the age of 36. On November 13, 1997, 4,200 of Steve's friends, fans and admirers gathered at Chicago's historic Medinah Temple to celebrate this unique individual and gifted musician who had touched their lives. This 60 minute DVD captures that magical evening and contains performances by Arlo Gutherie, Iris Dement, Todd Snider, Lyle Lovett, Emmylou Harris Jackson Browne and John Prine.
