Hal Roach had put Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy together in five silent films prior to this one, but the teamwork between the two was still gelling, and they hadn't yet developed the characters that we now know as Laurel and Hardy. Here, the boys are part of an Army Reserve group, headed for a weekend camp.
