RT on DVD & Blu-Ray: Law Abiding Citizen and Black Dynamite

Summary

Welcome to another week in home video. Many of the films that made big impacts before the winter movie season of 2009 have already found their way to DVD, so there isn't as much out there as one might hope. Nevertheless, we've been able to comb through the list of new releases to find some interesting choices for the discriminating consumer, and we're happy to report that only one of this week's choices has been reviewed as a Rotten film! The biggest (at least, probably best known) release this week is Law Abiding Citizen, starring Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx, but films like Black Dynamite, Good Hair, and Revanche were all highly regarded films that also hit shelves this week. Have a look at our full list and decide for yourself which might be worth checking out. Back to Article

"Black Dynamite"? "Goodfellas"? A Clint Eastwood collection? I think my DVD player is having a boner.

Black Dynamite was great. Law Abiding Citizen I didn't like so much. It was just way too ridiculous and I think Gerard Butler is stedily becoming one of the worst actors out right now.

Yeah, I agree with MovieMaster on Butler. He keeps going down hill. His last few projects have been pretty bad and it doesn't look like things are going to change with The Bounty Hunter--it looks awful.

Revanche and Hunger sounds pretty decent. Id love to check them out. As Butler's career moves closer to the brink, on the opposite end of the spectrum is Michael Fassbender--who keeps getting better. I saw the trailer for his new movie--Centurion---it looks pretty tight.

Butler realizes that he has other ways of making money that don't involve wearing a leather speedo. Of course I'd think leather would be preferable to being in a film with Jennifer Aniston but perhaps Butler just has a stronger gag reflex than everyone else......

I will always love butler for ol 1,2. Not quite as good as Turkish, but alot better than Jake Green. 300 was good, i couldnt imagine anyone else yelling "this is sparta" better. That'd be like somebody else saying "i drink your milkshake..." But come on Gerard Butler has been downhill since Dracula 2000 and Phantom Of The Opera.
